The accounting and consulting firm of WithumSmith&Brown, Red Bank, has announced the promotion of certified public accountants Rhea B. Harris and Jennifer Sullivan from senior accountants to managers. Fair Haven resident Harris received a bachelor’s degree in sociology from the University of Albany, State University of New York, and a master’s degree in business administration at New York University. Middletown resident Sullivan received a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Monmouth University, West Long Branch.

The company also announced that Jose Antunes of Toms River and Christine Mezynski of Edison have been promoted from semi-senior to senior accountant, and Jason Busco of Lakewood and Angie Watson of Middletown have been promoted from staff I to staff II accountant.

WithumSmith&Brown has offices in Bridgewater, Flemington, Livingston, Morristown, New Brunswick, Princeton, Red Bank and Toms River; New York City; and Newtown, Pa.

Bonnie Fitzgerald, New Jersey Association of Realtors (NJAR) president-elect, attended the 2005 National Association of Realtors (NAR) leadership summit in Chicago Aug. 18-19. NAR representatives provided the association and future association leaders with information on integrating national programs and priorities into state and local association activities, and on developing objectives for their new leadership role. Various industry leaders presented on topics such as technology, association leadership and management, industry issues, and future trends in business and society.

A Realtor since 1983, Fitzgerald is an active member of NAR, NJAR and the Ocean County Board of Realtors (OCBOR). In 1999, she served as president of OCBOR and was named Realtor of the Year by both OCBOR and NJAR. She has served on the NJAR Board of Directors as first vice president (2004) and public relations and communications division officer (2003), and as an NJAR director. At the national level, she is a member of the multiple-listings issues and policies committee and has also served as director of NAR. Through OCBOR, Fitzgerald serves on the strategic planning, personnel, multiple-listing service, budget and finance, and professional standards committees.

Based in Edison, NJAR is a nonprofit organization serving the professional needs of approximately 49,000 Realtor and Realtor-associate members in the state.

The Stop & Shop Supermarket Company and Giant Food have been collecting customer donations for the Hurricane Katrina relief effort in the American Gulf Coast as of Sept. 2. All Stop & Shop, Giant Food, and Super G stores will participate.

All funds collected from the drive will go to the American Red Cross and America’s Second Harvest — the nation’s food bank network, to help the victims of one of the most devastating storms in American history.

The supermarket chains are also collecting donations from associates at their main offices and distribution facilities.
