Julia Cito

Mrs. Cito, 77, of Freehold Township, died Oct. 15 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. Born in New York City, she had lived in Howard Beach, Queens, N.Y., before moving to Freehold Township 14 years ago. Mrs. Cito was predeceased by her husband, Alfred Cito, in 1985. She is survived by a son, John Cito of Maspeth, N.Y; a daughter and son-in-law, Diane and Ed Adamek of Freehold Township; a brother and sister-in-law, Edward and Grace Salvadore of Chicago; four grandchildren; and her extended family, Tom, Linda, Michael and Jennifer Tier, Kathy Goetz and Austin Bailey. Visiting will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center St., Freehold, Friday from 7-9 p.m. A memorial service will be held during the visiting hours. Christina Kohn

Mrs. Kohn, 98, of Manalapan, died Oct. 15 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. Born in Linden, she had been a longtime resident of Manalapan. Mrs. Kohn was a founding member of Grace Lutheran Church, Freehold. She was predeceased by her husband, Barney Kohn, in 1959. Her first husband, Rudolph Bosl, died in 1937. Mrs. Kohn is survived by a son, Barney Kohn of Old Bridge; two daughters and a son-in-law, Marie Bosl of Florida, and June and Taylor Palmer Jr. of Manalapan; nine grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. Visiting will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center St., Freehold, Wednesday 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home Thursday at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Dr. J. Francis Watson, pastor of the Grace Lutheran Church, officiating. Interment will follow at Old Tennent Cemetery, Tennent section of Manalapan. Ann Calandrino

Mrs. Calandrino, 83, of Freehold Township, died Oct. 3 at home. Born in Jersey City, she had been a resident of Freehold Township for 43 years. Mrs. Calandrino was a salesperson for Britts department store, Freehold Township, before her retirement. She was predeceased by her husband, Frank Calandrino, in 1979. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Frank and Judy Calandrino of Freehold Township; two daughters and a son-in-law, Julieann Calandrino of Howell, and Carolyn and Tom Gibson of Freehold Township; a brother, Vincent Mele of Little Ferry; a sister, Isabelle Bonini of Toms River; and three grandchildren. Entombment took place at Maplewood Mausoleum, Freehold Township. The Freeman Funeral Home, Freehold, was in charge of arrangements.

Henry “Hank” Constantineau

Mr. Constantineau, 74, of Jackson, died Oct. 1 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township, as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Born in Hudson Falls, N.Y., he had resided in the Morgan section of Sayreville for 35 years before moving to Jackson 10 years ago. Prior to retiring, he was a sign artist and the owner of Hank’s Signs in Morgan for more than 20 years. A U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean War, he was a construction lathe operator as well as a graphic design artist with the DeLaurentis Entertainment Group, a motion-picture film studio based in North Carolina. He was also a former president of the Morgan AA Little League Association and a senior advocate at the Oak Tree Park complex in Jackson. Mr. Constantineau was predeceased in 1997 by a son, Peter Constantineau, and in 1999 by a brother, Richard Constantineau. Surviving are his wife, Christine Condrack Constantineau; a daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Mark Baronowski of Howell; two sons and a daughter-in-law, David and Tracy of Howell, and Daniel of Sayreville and his companion, Cathy Yates; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held at Carmen F. Spezzi Funeral Home, Parlin section of Sayreville, followed by burial at New Calvary Cemetery, Parlin.

Elias Hull Sr.

Mr. Hull, 82, of Morganville, died Oct. 1 at home. Born in New York, he resided in Matawan prior to moving to Morganville eight years ago. He was a retired machinist at Syncro Machine Company, Perth Amboy, where he was employed 47 years. He served with the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a communicant of St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, Keyport. He was predeceased by his wife, Olga A. Hull. He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Christine Ann and Greg Pagan of Morganville; two sons and daughters-in-law, Elias and Claudia Hull Jr. of Germany, and Charles and Patty Hull of Perth Amboy; and four granddaughters. A funeral liturgy was held at St. Joseph’s Church, followed by burial at the church’s cemetery. Arrangements were by Day Funeral Home, Keyport.

Stanley Chojnacki

Mr. Chojnacki, 83, of Manalapan, died Oct. 13 at home. Born in Spotswood, he had been a resident of the Tennent section of Manalapan for the past 45 years. Prior to his retirement, Mr. Chojnacki was an electrician with the Peter J. Schweitzer Division of Kimberly-Clark, Spotswood, for 51 years. He was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of World War II. He was a communicant of St. Rose of Lima Roman Catholic Church, Freehold, and a member of the Polish American Club, Spotswood. Mr. Chojnacki is survived by his wife of 46 years, Freda Smith Chojnacki; two sons, Steven Chojnacki of Tennent and Stanley Chojnacki Jr. of Browns Mills; five daughters and two sons-in-law, Sheila and Ray Drager of Howell, Rachel Chojnacki of Millstone, Irene Kaechele of Woodhull, N.Y., Colleen and Michael Hall of Sandy Hook, Conn., and Laura Rose Chojnacki of Barnegat; a brother, Frank Chojnacki of Pennsylvania; a sister, Jean Sykulski of Spotswood; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Rose of Lima Church, followed by interment at Old Tennent Cemetery, Tennent. The Brunswick Memorial Home, East Brunswick, was in charge of arrangements.

Louis J. O’Brien Jr.

Mr. O’Brien, 70, of Freehold, died Oct. 12 at home. He was born in Elizabeth and had lived there before moving to Freehold 37 years ago. Mr. O’Brien was a comptroller for Fox Wells Co. Inc., New York City. He was a graduate of St. Benedict’s Prep School, Newark, and St. Peter’s College, Jersey City, where he was a member of the ROTC program. He served in the U.S. Army for four years and was a lieutenant in the Army Medical Service Corps. Mr. O’Brien was a former Freehold Borough councilman and a member of the Zoning Board of Adjustment; a former chairperson and treasurer of the Freehold Borough Republican Club; a charter member of the Central New Jersey Transportation Board; an 11-year member of the Monmouth County Board of Elections; co-chairman of the Monmouth County Transportation Coordinating Committee; a member of the National Association of Accountants; a past president of the North Jersey Shore Chapter of the Accounting Institute of Management Accountants; and a member of American Legion Post No. 54. He was a communicant of St. Rose of Lima Roman Catholic Church, Freehold, where he served as an usher; a life member of Freehold Council No. 1672, Knights of Columbus; a past president of the Freehold Little League; a former coach and treasurer of the St. Rose of Lima Basketball League; and a member and former treasurer of the Molly Pitcher Stamp Club. Mr. O’Brien was predeceased by his wife, Jeanne A. O’Brien, in 1996. Surviving are five sons and three daughters-in-law, Kevin and Fran O’Brien, Michael O’Brien and David O’Brien, all of Freehold, Dennis and Karen O’Brien of Howell, and Stephen and Alison O’Brien of Garwood; a brother and sister-in-law, James and Maureen O’Brien of Elizabeth; a sister and brother-in-law, Mary and James Benson of Point Pleasant; and two grandsons. The funeral liturgy was celebrated at St. Rose of Lima Church, followed by interment at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery, Freehold Township. Michael James Joseph Penchenski Jr.

Mr. Penchenski, 68, of Freehold Township, died Oct. 11 at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune. Born in the Westerleigh section of Staten Island, N.Y., he had lived in the Annadale section of Staten Island, N.Y., before moving to Freehold Township in 1972. Mr. Penchenski was a New York City Police Department officer in the 13th Precinct, Manhattan, and a firefighter for the Fire Department of New York assigned to Ladder 7 in Manhattan and Ladder 77 in Staten Island. Following his retirement from the FDNY, he was an emergency medical technician, ambulance driver and security officer at Richmond Memorial Hospital, Staten Island; a police officer for the Department of Defense at Lakehurst Naval Air Base; and a security officer at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. He was a graduate of Blessed Sacrament Elementary School and St. Peter’s High School, both Staten Island. He was a member of the Policemen’s Benevolent Association and the Uniformed Firefighters Association, both of New York City. Mr. Penchenski is survived by his wife, Beverly Miller Penchenski; four sons, Michael James Joseph Penchenski III of Old Bridge, Mark Penchenski of Blooming Grove, N.Y., Dean Smith of Cream Ridge, and Todd Smith of Freehold Township; four daughters, Diane Shrambra of Belle Meade, Karen Edwards of Lambertville, Jennifer Penchenski of Browns Mills, and Jill Rothchild of Seattle, Wash.; a sister, Ann Penchenski of Brick; and 11 grandchildren. Sophie Leshinsky Walker

Mrs. Walker, 86, of Freehold, died Oct. 14. Born in Freehold, she had lived in Marlboro and the Jerseyville section of Howell before moving back to Freehold in 1968. Mrs. Walker worked for Radio Switch Communications, Marlboro, for 24 years before her retirement in 1977. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Freehold, and most recently a member of Jerseyville United Methodist Church, Howell. Mrs. Walker was predeceased by her husband, Raymond, in 1992; a sister, Margaret Olsen; and two brothers, John and Edward Leshinsky. Surviving are three sons and daughters-in-law, Joseph R. and Barbara Walker of Marlboro, Frederick W. and Violet “Sis” Walker of Summerfield, Fla., and John and Loretta Walker of Ogdenburg, Pa.; a daughter, Patricia Ann Walker of Freehold; a brother, Stanley Leshinsky of Freehold; a sister, Florence Sirutis of Freehold; nine grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren. A funeral service was held at Jerseyville Methodist Church, followed by interment at Old Brick Reformed Church Cemetery, Marlboro. Sophie Dziedzic McHose

Mrs. McHose, 94, of Neptune City, died Oct. 16 at MediCenter, Neptune. Born in South River, she had lived in Freehold for 35 years before moving to Neptune City. Mrs. McHose was a communicant of St. Rose of Lima Roman Catholic Church, Freehold. She was predeceased by her husband, Raymond, in 1988, and a granddaughter, Heather Marie Evinger, in 1990. Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Carole and John Falotico of Bradley Beach; two sons and daughters-in-law, Joseph and Marie McHose, and Raymond and Sharon McHose, all of Monroe; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; seven step-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held at the Brunswick Memorial Home, East Brunswick, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, South River. Interment followed at St. Mary’s Cemetery, East Brunswick.

Dorothy A. Breese

Mrs. Breese, 71, of Freehold Township, died Oct. 4 at her home. She was born in Freehold and had lived in Jackson before moving to Freehold Township four years ago. She was predeceased by her husband, Marvin Breese; two sons, Michael and Stephen; a great-granddaughter, Dakota; and a brother, Jack Wish. Mrs. Breese is survived by a son, Marvin J. Breese of New York City; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Brenda L. Davis of Honesdale, Pa., Linda and Ronald A. Mueller, and Wanda and Warren Wright, all of Monroe Township; a brother and sister-in-law, Robert J. and Pat Wish of Manalapan; a sister and brother-in-law, Patricia A. and Bernie McKenna of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; four grandchildren; a great-grandchild; five step-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; a brother-in-law; several sisters-in-law; and many nieces and nephews. Richard Frank Piccillo

Mr. Piccillo, 61, of Manalapan, died Oct. 4 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. Born in Jersey City, he had lived there before moving to Manalapan two years ago. Mr. Piccillo owned and operated Rich & Pat’s Tavern in Jersey City for 20 years, and later worked in the maintenance department of the New Jersey Highway Authority in Woodbridge for 18 years, retiring two weeks ago. He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann Piccillo; a son and daughter-in-law, Rachelle and John Yanick of Manalapan; his mother-in-law, Rachel Amabile; three brothers, Patrick, Ronald and Frank Piccillo; and four grandchildren.
