   Indie flick: The Lawrence Library Headquarters Branch of the Mercer County Library invites the public to attend a showing of "Drifters," at 7 p.m. as part of the Independent Films @ Your Library program.
   The film is the official selection at the Cannes Film Festival and tells the tale of a man who was deported from the United States, a Chinese barred from seeing his American-born son by the Chinese government.

   Veterans Day: Come out and support the town’s veterans at a 10 a.m. ceremony at the American Legion Post 414, 100 Berwyn Place. The event will commemorate the 60th anniversary of the end of World War II, as well as honor local veterans.
   Post 414 and Lawrence Township are sponsoring the event.

   Art exhibit: A collection of the work of photojournalist Dan Eldon will be on display today through Dec. 14 in the Marguerite and James Hutchins Gallery of Lawrenceville’s Gruss Center of Visual Arts.
   An artist, world traveler, filmmaker, graphic designer, and the youngest photojournalist ever to have worked for Reuters, Mr. Eldon was killed in 1993 at the age of 22 while on assignment to document famine and anarchy in Somalia. This traveling exhibit features Mr. Eldon’s photographs and documents the drawings, paintings and mixed media images with which he filled his journals as he traveled the world.
   Mr. Eldon’s work has been collected in two books, "Dan Eldon: the Art of Life" and "The Journey is the Destination: the Journals of Dan Eldon."
   Already the inspiration for a documentary on war correspondents called "Dying to Tell the Story," Mr. Eldon’s story will also be told in a feature film from Columbia Pictures.
   The Gruss Center is located on the School’s campus at 2500 Main St. The gallery is open Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 9 a.m.- noon, and from 1-4 p.m. Visitors are also welcome on Wednesdays and Saturdays from 9 a.m.- noon, The gallery will be closed Nov. 19-27.    Visit from Caillou: Quaker Bridge Mall will present the "Caillou Book Tour Live!" for three stage shows.
   PBS TV Star Caillou will have three shows in mall’s center court at noon, 2 p.m. and 4 p.m.
   Each 20-minute live performance offers creative and interactive fun for the whole family. Bring a camera and meet Caillou for photos after each show.
   LHS Hall of Honor dinner: The Lawrence High School Hall of Honor will induct eight alumni, and recognize these graduates for their accomplishments and achievements to their community, profession and family.
   The honorees are Scott Caloiaro, Enrico Scardelletti, Keith Richardson, Courtney Colavita, David Snedeker, George Tiger, Adrien Snedeker and Michael Oakley.
   Special recognition awards will be presented to Forrest Miller and Ed Shirk.
   Tickets for the dinner, to be held at 6:30 p.m. in the Chauncey Conference Center at Educational Testing Service, are $45.
   All proceeds from this event will go toward a scholarship for a graduating senior who is the child of a Lawrence High School alumni.

   Main Street cleanup: Main Street’s semi-annual cleanup day will be held from noon to 3 p.m. Areas targeted for cleanup this fall include Weeden Park and the Lawrenceville Main Street office. In addition, volunteers will refurbish the paths in Weeden Park with new red stone.
   Volunteers may come for all or part of the time, and are asked to bring gloves, rakes and pruning shears if possible. Meet at the Main Street office at 17 Phillips Ave.

   Counseling workshop: NAMI Mercer NJ, the Mercer County affiliate of the National Alliance for the Mentally Ill, will offer "When to Counsel and When to Refer," at 3 p.m. at the NAMI Center, 3371 Brunswick Pike, Lawrence Commons, Suite 124, Lawrence.
   The free program will address the complementary roles of pastoral counseling and mental health treatment for clergy, deacons, and other care givers seeking to balance the unique helping potential of the church with specialized community health resources. The presenter will be the Rev. Richard White, chaplain to the Princeton Healthcare System.

   Mental health and the justice system: NAMI Mercer NJ will offer a talk on "Persons with Serious Mental Illness Involved with the Criminal Justice System," at 7.30 p.m.
   The free talk will be held at the Lawrence Library Headquarters Branch of the Mercer County Library System.
   Greater Trenton Behavioral HealthCare representatives will discuss its services and efforts in support of people with serious mental illness involved with the criminal justice system. Call (609) 799-8994 to register.

   Job fair: The YWCA of Trenton will be hosting its first job fair from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the YW facility 140 East Hanover St., Trenton The free job fair is open to all residents of Mercer County.
   Over 20 employers are expected to attend including Wachovia Bank, ShopRite, FedEx, McDonald’s, Primerica, Verizon, The Maids, Sunoco, Capital Health Systems, Sleepy’s and the U.S. Army.
   Attendees are encouraged to bring resume and be prepared to schedule interviews.

   Newcomers Club: The Newcomers Club, at the YWCA Princeton, will offer an evening social coffee at 7:30 p.m. at a member’s home in Princeton.
