Council fills vacancies on boards, committees

The Township Council appointed residents to serve on advisory boards and committees.

In one of its first official acts of the new year, Township Council filled vacancies on the various advisory boards and committees including the Planning Board and the Zoning Board of Adjustment on Tuesday.
   Township Council expects to appoint one student each to serve on the Affordable Housing Board and the Open Space Advisory Committee at its next meeting. The council plans to take formal action to expand the membership of the two boards at its Jan. 17 meeting.
   This week, Township Council reappointed James Kownacki of Fillmore Place and appointed Marcy Kleiner of Drexel Avenue to four-year terms on the Planning Board. Ms. Kleiner was elevated to full-member status from her prior position as alternate number 2.
   The council reappointed Dennis Waters of Ivy Glen Lane to a two-year term as Alternate No. 1 and named Nathaniel Moorman of Rickard Court to fill out the remaining year of Ms. Kleiner’s two-year term as Alternate No. 2.
   At the Zoning Board of Adjustment, Leona Maffei of Lawrenceville Road was reappointed to a four-year term as a regular member. Charles Lavine of Federal Point Boulevard was named to a two-year term as an alternate member.
   Paul Bannwart of Lawrence Road and Pamela Conover were reappointed to three-year terms on the Affordable Housing Board. Also appointed to three-year terms were Rakesh Patel of Lawrence Road and Judy White of Shirley Lane.
   At the Cable Telecommunications Advisory Committee, Lawrence Tractenberg of Stonicker Drive was reappointed to a four-year term and James Williams of Wayside Lane was appointed to a four-year term.
   At the Construction Board of Appeals, Richard Aicher of Heritage Way was reappointed as the electrician and Albert Frascella of Review Avenue was reappointed as the electrician alternate. The terms are for four years.
   Christine Altomari of Yeger Drive and Brian Hammer of Shirley Lane were reappointed to four-year terms on the Environmental Resources Committee. Somia Aluwalia of Princeton Pike, Peter Dixon of Stonicker Drive and Kathleen O’Neill of Pine Knoll Drive were appointed to four-year terms.
   At the Greenway Committee, James Cordingley of Lawrence Road and Anne Demarais of Lawn Park Avenue were reappointed to three-year terms.
   Cami Granahan of Princeton Pike and Michael Pratico of Federal City Road were reappointed to three-year terms on the Growth and Redevelopment Committee. Jennifer Long of Putnam Avenue and Michelle Sternfeld of Larkspur Lane were appointed to four-year terms.
   At the Health Advisory Board, Anthony Brickman of Roseberry Court and Kevin McGuigan of Lawrence Road were reappointed to three-year terms by Township Council.
   Richard McLaughlin of Merritt Drive was reappointed to the Human Relations Committee for a three-year term and Keith Dewey of Gallo Court was appointed to fill the last two years of an unexpired three-year term.
   Laurie Emde of Merritt Drive and John Emmons of Shirley Lane were reappointed to three-year terms on the Open Space Advisory Committee.
   At the Public Safety Advisory Committee, William Holmes of Altamawr Avenue and Paul Palombi of Graf Avenue were reappointed to the committee. Michael Ehret of Main Street also was appointed. The terms are for two years.
   George Ferenchick of Green Avenue, Jill Posluszny of Karena Lane and Sigmund Zegarski of Vanderveer Drive were reappointed to three-year terms on the Recreation Advisory Committee.
   John Conroy of Lakedale Drive was reappointed to a three-year term on the Route 1 Redvelopment Committee, along with newcomer Michael Tkacs of President Avenue.
   Lorraine Colavita of Lawnside Drive, Harriet Levine of Johnson Road and Veronica Pickering of Penlaw Road were reappointed to four-year terms on the Senior Executive Committee, along with newcomer Helen Holmes of Altamawr Avenue. Ms. Holmes retired earlier this year as the executive director of the township’s Office on Aging.
   Edward Sproles of Andrew Drive was reappointed to a three-year term on the Shade Tree Advisory Committee.
