For the Record

At the Howell Board of Education Community Relations Committee meeting on Jan. 10, Superintendent of Schools Enid Golden noted that two parents expressed a concern regarding issues related to holiday decorations and concerts. The superintendent reiterated that the district’s current policy is to recognize December holidays equally. The district has committed to having the issue reviewed by a subcommittee of its Diversity Council, headed by Lynn Coco, vice principal, Ramtown Elementary School. Coco is currently arranging an initial meeting, to be held in the spring, so that parents and community members can present any holiday-related issues. Recommendations to the Board of Education will be made prior to next year’s holiday season. Information about the action taken at the Community Relations Committee was unclear in a recent Tri-Town News article.
