MANVILLE Edward J. Chernesky died Jan. 25 at home. He was 66.
Born in Manville, he had been a lifelong resident.
Mr. Chernesky worked as a cabinet-maker for Bothers Woodworking located in Hillsborough for 15 years. He was employed as a line operator for Johnson & Johnson where he was employed for over seven years, retiring in 1989.
He was a communicant of Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church in Manville.
He was a member of the Manville Rod & Gun Club and was very active with the American Legion Post 304 in Manville.
Surviving are his wife, Elizabeth "Betty" (Szakacs) Chernesky; two children, Edward R. of Manville and Eric P. at home; two sisters, Geraldine Charnesky of Largo, Fla., and Patricia Baranowski of Manville; three brothers, Raymond Charneski of Manville, Robert Charneski of St. Petersburg, Fla., and Fredrick Chernesky of Bridgewater; and four grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Jan. 30 from Fucillo & Warren Funeral Home in Manville, followed by a funeral liturgy at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church. Burial was in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Hillsborough.
