+ Hoop-A-Thon, sponsored by the Huntington’s Disease Society of America, New Jersey Chapter. April 22 event is set for 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Rutgers University Louis Brown Athletic Center (the “RAC”) on Rutgers’ Livingston campus, Piscataway. April 29 event set for 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Hoop Heaven Basketball Center, Whippany. Participants stand at the foul line and shoot as many baskets as they can in 10 minutes. For each basket that is sunk, sponsors (signed up by each shooter prior to the contest) donate a pledged amount of money. Flat donations also accepted. Many shooters receive sporting goods gift certificates proportional to the money they raise. Every participant who raises $75 or more receives a Hoop-A-Thon T-shirt.
