Jacoutot brothers to host fourth wrestling camp

The Jacoutots are regarded as one of the finest wrestling families in a state that consistently produces some of the best high school wrestlers in the nation.

In total, the five Jacoutot brothers have racked up more New Jersey state placings (12), NCAA Division III championships (five) and All American honors (two) than any other wrestling family in the state.

The Jacoutot brothers return to New Jersey July 10-14 at Manalapan High School to host what many consider one of the top commuter wrestling camps in the area.

Bill, the oldest of the brothers, is a nationally renowned high school wrestling coach at Spencerport High School in New York. During his 25-year tenure, Bill has built a program consistently ranked among the nation’s top 25. He has coached nine individual New York state champions and four of his teams have earned the top state honor as well.

“Bill is one of the most knowledgeable coaches I have had the pleasure to be associated with,” said Rande Sottlemeyer, head coach, University of Pittsburgh. “Bill knows wrestling. Any camp that has Bill Jacoutot teaching is a camp I want to send my wrestlers to.”

This year’s camp will feature a combination of expert instruction, extensive drill sessions, situational wrestling and live wrestling.

“Guest clinicians such as Bill Jacoutot, and All-American wrestlers Chris Marshall and Jake Percival bring over 100 years of combined wrestling experience,” says Tim Jacoutot, the camp’s director. “We feel we have put together an outstanding staff whose reputations to instruct, inspire and interact with young athletes is unparalleled.”

The camp is for ages 6 to 18 and offers two sessions. Session 1 (ages 6-11) is held from 9-11 a.m. and Session II (ages 12-17) is held from 6-8 p.m. at Manalapan High School.

The evening session brings in talent from some of the best high school wrestling teams in the area, such as St. John Vianney, Manalapan, Christian Brothers Academy, Old Bridge and Montgomery.
