Stanley Willsky

Mr. Willsky, of East Brunswick, formerly of Edison, died Aug. 5 in Applegarth Care Center, Monroe. A biostatistician with Bristol-Myers Squibb, Lawrenceville section of Lawrence, for 30 years, he served on the East Brunswick Advisory Health Council for many years. Surviving are his wife, Rhoda Lipman Willsky; a son, Gregg, and a daughter, Karen, both of Morristown; and a sister, Barbara Willsky Green of Cabin John, Md. Graveside services were held at Mount Lebanon Cemetery, Iselin section of Woodbridge.

Joseph A. Drewingo

Mr. Drewingo, 80, of North Brunswick, died Aug. 6 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. Born in Avoca, Pa., he resided in Old Forge, Pa., before relocating to North Brunswick in 1951. He was a manager at Permacel Tape, North Brunswick, for 40 years, retiring in 1993. He served with the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a communicant of Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, New Brunswick. He was a member of the American Legion. He is survived by his wife, Lena Mattei Drewingo; two daughters, Patricia Hopkins of Manalapan, and Mary Linda Todd of Greenville, N.Y.; three sisters, Agnes Yukobowsky of Edison, Francie Krykevich of Old Bridge, and Mary Piehota of Dupont Pa., and three grandsons. Burial was at Old Forge Cemetery, Pa. Arrangements were by Selover Funeral Home, North Brunswick.

Mary B. (Henry) McDonald

Mrs. McDonald, 78, of Union Beach, died Aug. 18 at home. Born in Jersey City, she had lived there before moving to Union Beach, where she resided for 47 years. Prior to retiring in 2003, she was employed by the Union Beach Board of Education for 25 years as a secretary to the principal at Memorial School. She was a communicant of Holy Family Roman Catholic Church, Union Beach, and a member of both its Altar Rosary Society and its Golden Age seniors group. She also belonged to the Union Beach Senior Citizens. Mrs. McDonald was predeceased by her husband, Joseph McDonald Jr.; a son, Bruce McDonald, in 2004; and two sisters, Catherine DeGioia and Carolyn Quail. Surviving are two daughters and sons-in-law, Denise and Dennis McInerney of Manahawkin, and Colleen and Thomas Burke of Union Beach; a daughter-in-law, Barbara McDonald; two brothers, John Henry and Robert Henry, both of Edison; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. A funeral Mass was offered at Holy Family Church. Interment took place at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Keyport. Day Funeral Home, Keyport, was in charge of arrangements.

E. Dorothy Dean Oderio

Mrs. Oderio, 77, of Aberdeen, died Aug. 7 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold. Born in Pittsburgh, she resided in West New York, prior to moving to Aberdeen 38 years ago. She was a homemaker. She was a communicant of St. Benedict’s Roman Catholic Church, Holmdel. She is survived by her husband, Robert Oderio; four daughters and three sons-in-law, Donna and Wade Bates of Jackson, Patty and Mike Vosk of Doylestown, Pa., Barbara and Tom Cole of Freehold, and Diane Oderio of Edison; a sister, Joanne Deighen of Naples, Fla.; and two grandchildren. Entombment was at St. Gabriel’s Cemetery, Marlboro. Arrangements were by Day Funeral Home, Keyport. Memorial donations may be made to American Lung Association, 1600 Route 22 east, Union 07083.

Gregory J. Lagana Sr.

Mr. Lagana, 51, of the Laurence Harbor section of Old Bridge, died July 31 in Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel. He was employed for the past 15 years as a truck driver with Ho-Ro Trucking, Avenel section of Woodbridge. He was predeceased by his father, Gregory Lagana. Surviving are his wife, Deborah Breuer Lagana; a son, Gregory J. Jr. of Laurence Harbor; a daughter, Eva of Sayreville; his mother, Anne of Brooklyn, N.Y.; a brother, Michael of the Mystic Islands section of Little Egg Harbor; a sister, Palma of Brooklyn; a granddaughter; and many nieces and nephews. A Mass was offered at St. Mary’s Church, South Amboy. Entombment was in Holmdel Mausoleum.

Ilona Schlieszler Piatkowski-Janosz

Mrs. Piatkowski-Janosz, 67, of Parlin, died Aug. 10 at Saint Peter’s University Hospital, New Brunswick. She was an administrative assistant at Saint Peter’s University Hospital. She was predeceased by her mother, Margaret Dudash; and a brother, Henry Dudash. She is survived by five sons and three daughters-in-law, Edward R. and Kimberly Piatkowski of York, Pa., John P. Piatkowski of Old Bridge, Francis J. Piatkowski of South Amboy, Donald W. and Dawn Piatkowski of the Avenel section of Woodbridge, and Michael D. and Karen Piatkowski of Carteret; a daughter and son-in-law, Susann L. Piatkowski and her husband Henry of Parlin; her stepfather, John Dudash; a brother, John Dudash of Arizona; two sisters, Rose Coopersmith of Plainfield, and Ernestine Fentos of Pennsylvania; and 10 grandchildren. Interment was at Clover Leaf Memorial Park, Woodbridge. Arrangements were by Michael Hegarty Funeral Home, Old Bridge.
