The president of the New Jersey Association of School Administra-tors wrote a “Your Turn” guest column titled “N.J. Superintendents Paid Less Than Neighbors” that appeared in the Aug. 16 issue of the News Transcript.
The president, Diane D. DeGiacomo, wrote, “I realize, therefore, that the point I’d like to make today may not be well-received, but it’s one that I feel needs to be expressed.”
I agree with her. It is not well-received.
If the readers want a source of comparison on salaries, all they have to do is Google the phrase “Salaries of school superintendents.” Up pops the site of the American Association of School Administrators.
The reader can compare the 2004-05 salaries for school superintendents in various ways. Then they can come to their own conclusions.
By the way, our governor’s salary is $175,000.
