William Francis Cooper Jr.

Mr. Cooper, 63, of the Port Monmouth section of Middletown, died Nov. 27, 2006, at home. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., he resided in Middletown the past 36 years. He was a salesman at Toyota of Eatontown, and Kay Honda, Eatontown, for several years. He was predeceased by his father, William F. Cooper Sr. in 1982. He is survived by his mother, Aretina Tarsia Cooper, with whom he resided; two daughters, Stefanie Cooper of Middletown, and Christine Conover of Freehold; a son, William F. Cooper III of Eatontown; and three grandchildren.

Edward Sandello

Edward J. Sandello, 90, of Freehold, died Nov. 27, 2006, at Pinebrook Care Center, Manalapan. Born in New Haven, Conn., he resided in New York City before moving to Freehold four years ago. He was a self-employed restaurant owner. Mr. Sandello is survived by his wife, Isabelle M.; a son, Michael Anthony Orlando of Old Bridge; a daughter, Michelle Marie Campagna of Manalapan; a sister, Faye Marion of Bronx, N.Y.; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Services were held at the Freeman Funeral Home, Freehold.

Elaine Marcus

Mrs. Marcus, 73, of Freehold, died Dec. 2, 2006, at Pine Brook Care Center, Manalapan. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., she had resided in Freehold for more than 40 years. Mrs. Marcus was a member of Congregation Agudath Achim, Freehold. She was predeceased by her husband, Stanley L. Marcus, in 1995. Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Marianne Marcus of Freehold, and Donald and Ann Marcus of Lanoka Harbor; a brother and sister-in-law, Sam and Rosaland Sacknowitz; a sister, Phyllis Reynolds; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Services were held at the Higgins Memorial Home, Freehold, followed by interment at Congregation Agudath Achim Cemetery, Freehold.

Walter “Walt” Henry Bennett

Mr. Bennett, 77, of Ocean, died Nov. 30, 2006, at Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch. He resided in Belleville prior to moving to the shore area in the early 1980s. He was employed in auto sales at Book Buick, Nutley, for several years, retiring in 1987. He enjoyed spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Rae; three sons and daughters-in-law, Mark J. and Janice of Vernon, Walter L. and Debbie of Millstone, and Dean T. and Lisa of Milburn; a daughter and son-in-law, Peggy and Peter Cherasia of Rumson; and 11 grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at Church of the Nativity, Fair Haven. Interment was at Fair View Cemetery, Middletown. Arrangements were by Thompson Memorial Home, Red Bank. Gregory Silk

Gregory P. Silk, 23, of Freehold Township, died Nov. 21, 2006 at the University of Medicine and Dentistry, Newark. Born in Livingston, he moved to Freehold Township at age 2. Prior to being employed as a salesman at Dick’s Sporting Goods, Freehold Raceway Mall, Freehold Township, he was a salesman at the Nissan Dealership, Freehold Township. Mr. Silk was a 2001 graduate of Freehold Township High School, where he played on the football team. He was also a graduate of DeVry Institute. He loved music and played the guitar. Surviving are his parents, Gregory E. and Linda Gresham Silk; and two sisters, Jennifer Carson and Kimberly Silk; all of Freehold Township. Services were held at Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, Freehold Township. A funeral Mass was offered at The Church of St. Robert Bellarmine, Freehold Township, followed by burial at Maplewood Cemetery, Freehold. www.claytonfuneralhome.com.
