What are you thinking, Judge Gelade? The message this ruling sends to our citizens and to other hardworking, conscientious public servants is so very sad. A person who leaves the scene of an accident is exonerated? Why then, sir, should anyone obey any law(s)? Why would a parent, educator, etc., instill in their children that laws are made for our protection and we should live by them. You, sir, have made a dreadful mistake.
Additionally, have you considered what this ruling will do to the morale of the police department? What a difficult situation you have placed the superior officers in Unfortunately, your poor judgment other people will have to “live with.” Shame on you!
