The New Egypt High School football team announces that senior all-conference center Dom Valdner (6-5, 270 pounds) has committed to play football for Division 1AA Cornell University in Ithaca, N.Y. A first-team, all-academic selection, he chose Cornell over Princeton and Columbia. Dom gave his commitment to head coach Jim Knowles on his official visit Sunday.

The NJ Mid State Golden Blades girls ice hockey Club won the Thanksgiving Tournament in Warwick, Pa. These girls play out of Wall Sports Arena and are looking for players for the 2007-08 season. The Ocean County Department of Parks and Recreation will be sponsoring a Learn to Bowl program. The program serves as an introduction to bowling and on the lanes practice. It will be conducted on Fridays, March 9-30 at the Brunswick Lakewood Lanes on Route 9 and 70 in Lakewood from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The fee for each player is $10. This class is for participants who have never taken a Learn to Bowl class.
