MGA Cyclones win Level 7 state gymnastics title

The Monmouth Gymnastics Academy’s Cyclones, a boys gymnastics team, shined at the recent 2007 USAG State Championships, hosted by AAG, Lyndhurst.

The Cyclones’ Level 7 team took home the first-place team trophy for the state, while the Level 5 and 6 teams placed second. The entire Cyclones team has qualified for Regionals.

At Level 10 ages 16-18, Pierce Goldsmith placed seventh in the all-around (44.4), fourth on rings and vault, fifth on floor exercise, sixth on pommel horse, and ninth on p-bars and high bar

For the Level 7 championship team in ages 10-11, Akash Modi placed second in the AA (55.5), second on rings and p-bars, third on high bar, fourth on horse and vault, and sixth on floor. Emanuel Fradkin placed third in the AA (53.6), first on rings and high bar, second on floor, fifth on horse and eighth on vault. Mikael Khachatryan placed fourth in AA (53.2), first on vault, second on horse, and seventh on floor, rings and high bar. Michael Egna placed 10th in the AA (50.4), third on floor and seventh on horse. Matthew Mannino also competed in this age division.

In Level 7 ages 12-plus, Anthony Maita placed second in the AA (50.4), first on floor, second on rings and p-bars, fourth on high bar, fifth on horse and seventh on vault.

In Level 6 ages 8-9, T.J. Orrico placed fifth in the AA (51.8), third on rings and p-bars, fourth on vault, sixth on horse, eighth on floor and ninth on high bar

For Level 6 ages 10-11, Christopher Graff placed fourth in the AA (55.55), first on vault, third on floor, fourth on horse, sixth on high bar and 10th on rings. Joseph Luca placed seventh in the AA (54.1), sixth on horse, seventh on floor and p-bars, and ninth on vault. Willie Barron placed 10th in the AA (51.8) and first on floor.

In Level 6 age 12-plus, Michael Cefalu placed fourth in the AA (49.5), second on vault and p-bars, fourth on floor and fifth on horse

In Level 5 age 8, Daniel Mizrachi placed seventh in the AA (54.4), fourth on floor, sixth on high bar and 10th on horse Parker Adamo placed eighth in the AA (53.9), sixth on p-bars, seventh on high bar, and eighth on floor and rings. Michael Luca placed seventh on rings and p-bars, and ninth on horse Jimmy Rush placed eighth on high bar and ninth on p-bars.

In Level 5 age 7, Evan Hymanson placed second in the AA (53.9), first on rings and vault, second on floor and high bar, fifth on p-bars and eighth on horse

Level 5 age 10-plus, Damian Jardot placed first in the AA (53.6), won the horse and p-bars, took second on high bar, and fourth on rings and vault. Ross Rudnicki was 10th on the floor.
