Monmouth University pitcher Brad Brach collected his second Akadema/ Northeast Conference Pitcher of the Week honors in the last three weeks. The first time, the Freehold Township High School grad had pitched a no-hitter. This time around the right-hander threw a complete game, two-hit shutout as Monmouth beat Central Connecticut State, 2-0. He struck out seven and walked only one as he ran his record to 6-1. Brach, who is a junior, ran his complete game streak to four. With his sixth win, he now has 18 for his career, tying former Howell High School star Joe Aragona for third place on the school’s all-time wins list.

The YMCA of West Monmouth County will be holding a Co-Ed Basketball Strengthening Clinic for players ages 10-18 on Saturdays. The clinic will start this Saturday and run through June 2. They will run from 7-8:30 p.m. and will be instructed by Joe Napolitano, a former college assistant coach at Seton Hall University. Cost for the program is $200. The Battle of Monmouth U15 boys soccer team will be holding tryouts on Friday from 5-6:30 p.m. on the Dugan Elementary School fields in Marlboro. The team is looking for serious players. For additional information, call Tony at (732) 580-4010.

The Manalapan Bulldogs, a very successful U-10 boys team that plays in the Monmouth-Ocean Soccer Association, will be having two tryouts for interested, well-rounded players to fill out the team’s roster for the fall season. The tryout dates are May 17 on Field C at the Manalapan Recreation Center from 6-8 p.m. and June 1 on Field C at the Manalapan Recreation Center from 4:30-6:15 p.m. For additional information, email [email protected].
