Agency seeks donations for wildfire relief

The American Red Cross Jersey Coast Chapter, Tinton Falls/Toms River, has been on the scene providing the victims with emergency assistance including meals, snacks, emotional support and grief counseling following the wildfire that occurred in Ocean County May 15. As local emergency responders battled the blaze, the Red Cross opened shelters and is providing a safe haven, food and relief services to the residents. Two shelters were opened and provided relief to more than 700 people. The Red Cross is also providing mobile feeding to the first responders.

Bill Murray, CEO, is appealing to the public to assist the agency financially to guarantee it will always be there. All Red Cross disaster assistance is free, made possible by voluntary donations of time and money from the Americans.
