The next step: raising funds for its construction

MONTGOMERY — The Montgomery Township Veterans Memorial Committee is moving forward with plans for the construction of a granite memorial to honor those who have served the nation during times of war.
Detailed plans for the memorial — created through the donation of time and services by the architectural firm of Thomas Lee, a member of the Montgomery Township Planning Board — have been completed, allowing the committee to move forward with the solicitation of bids for the project.
"We really appreciate the huge amount of time and talent that Mr. Lee has given to this graceful tribute to our more than 900 Montgomery veterans who have served in our armed forces or Merchant Marine during times of war," said Veterans Memorial Committee Chairman Jerry Cianfrocca.
The planned memorial would be built in the arboretum at Montgomery Park.
The committee is still raising funds toward the goal of $325,000 for completion of the project.
People wishing to donate moneys to the project are encouraged to send a check to The Montgomery Veterans Memorial Fund at PACF at 15 Princess Road, Lawrenceville, NJ 08646.
