Roman Lipinski

Mr. Lipinski, 53, of Spotswood, formerly of Old Bridge, died May 27, 2007, at home. Prior to his retirement in 2004, he was employed as a baker for ShopRite of East Brunswick, Edison and North Brunswick, where he worked for 30 years. His wife, Nancy Lovito Lipinski, died in 1997. Surviving are two sons, Scott Lipinski of Jersey City and Michael Lipinski of Gouldsboro, Pa.; and a granddaughter, Marisa Lipinski, also of Gouldsboro. Services were held at Maliszewski Funeral Home, South River. Interment was in Chestnut Hill Cemetery, East Brunswick.

Mary D. Waldman

Mrs. Waldman, 83, of Milltown, formerly of East Brunswick, died May 21, 2007, in Barbara E. Cheung Memorial Hospice, Edison. Surviving are her husband, Larry Waldman; a daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Todd Gelb of Chalfont, Pa.; a cousin, Tom Suchorski of Surf City; two grandsons, Matthew and Daniel; and her caregiver, Theresa Ramos. A funeral liturgy was offered at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Milltown. Entombment was in Holy Cross Burial Park, East Brunswick. Carol Dare Thorne

Mrs. Thorne, 70, of Freehold, died May 19, 2007, at home. Surviving are her husband, Gerald; five children, Lynn Reynolds and Cheryl Arvidson, both of Old Bridge, Audrey Lotti of Freehold, Scott Thorne of East Brunswick and Jeff Thorne of Jackson; and 13 grandchildren. A celebration of Mrs. Thorne’s life was held at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, Freehold.

Irma M. McDonald

Mrs. McDonald, 87, of Hazlet, died June 1, 2007, at Regency Park Nursing Center, Hazlet. Born in Wisconsin, she resided in Madison, Wis., and Red Bank, prior to relocating to Hazlet four years ago. She was a homemaker. She was predeceased by her husband, James in 1973. She is survived by a son, Larry of Old Bridge; and three grandchildren. Interment was at Highland Memorial Gardens, Madison, Wis. Arrangements were by Michael Hegarty Funeral Home, Old Bridge.

Irma M. McDonald

Mrs. McDonald, 87, of Hazlet, died June 1, 2007, at Regency Park Nursing Center, Hazlet. Born in Wisconsin, she resided in Madison, Wis., and Red Bank, prior to relocating to Hazlet four years ago. Barbara O’Donnell

Mrs. O’Donnell, 72, of Freehold Township, died May 27, 2007, at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. She was born in South River and had resided in Freehold Township since 1954. Prior to retiring 20 years ago, she was a receptionist for AT&T Bell Laboratories, Freehold. She was a communicant of St. Rose of Lima Roman Catholic Church, Freehold, and a member of the church choir. She was also a member of Catholic Daughters of the Americas, Court St. Rose of Lima No. 737, and the Telephone Pioneers of America. Mrs. O’Donnell was predeceased by a son, Matthew, in 1990, as well as two brothers, Leo and Matthew Cannon. Surviving are her husband, William F. O’Donnell; three daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara and Thomas Clark of Rumson, Colleen and Michael Gagliano of Toms River, and Kathleen and George Bente of Upper Saddle River; two brothers, Brian Cannon of South River and James Cannon of South Amboy; two sisters, Margaret Hall of Millstone and Mary Jane Kohlhepp of South River; and four grandchildren. The funeral liturgy was offered at St. Rose of Lima Church, followed by interment at Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Cemetery, Arnytown. Josephine C. Pellicane Betzler

Mrs. Betzler, 86, of Milltown, died May 30, 2007, at Francis E. Parker Memorial Home, New Brunswick. Born in New Brunswick, she resided in Milltown for more than 60 years. She was a communicant of Our Lady of Lourdes Roman Catholic Church, Milltown. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Milltown Fire Department, Milltown Seniors Citizens, and Milltown Auxiliary of the Hi 12 Club. Mrs. Betzler was predeceased by her husband, Charles G. Betzler, in 1997; two brothers, Joseph and Paul Pellicane; and a sister, Lena Mazza. She is survived by a son, Charles G. Betzler Jr. of Verona; a daughter, Charlotte Oskin of Montgomery Township; a brother, Frank Pellicane of North Brunswick; and five grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, followed by interment at Van Liew Cemetery, North Brunswick. Arrangements were by Selover Funeral Home, North Brunswick.

Donald D. Tanner

Mr. Tanner, 66, of Englishtown, died May 29, 2007, at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township, after a long illness. Born and raised in Englishtown, he had lived in Newark for more than 25 years before entering Pine Brook Care Center, Manalapan, in June 2004. He worked in construction. Mr. Tanner was predeceased by a brother, Herbert R. Tanner; two sisters, Arline D. Tanner and Gail M. Tanner-Copeland; and his longtime companion, Grace Pittman. Surviving are two brothers, Charles C. Tanner Jr. of Lakewood and Bobby J. Tanner of Monroe; four sisters, Shirley J. Johnson and Patricia D. Simms, both of Freehold, Sondra P. Little of Asbury Park and Jerri D. Tanner of Trenton; and many nieces and nephews. A funeral service was held at Freeman Funeral Home, Freehold, followed by interment at Maplewood Cemetery, Freehold Township.

Lillian Kelly Dorrian

Mrs. Dorrian, 83, of East Brunswick, died May 17, 2007, in Saint Peter’s University Hospital, New Brunswick. Surviving are two sons, John Dorrian, and his wife, Diane, of Estero, Fla., and Kevin Dorrian, and his wife, Joan, of North Brunswick; a daughter, Colleen Larrison, and her husband, Michael, of South Amboy; two grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Services were held at Brunswick Memorial Home, East Brunswick. Interment was in Elmwood Cemetery, North Brunswick.
