Elizabeth Sarah Smith

Mrs. Smith, 88, of Freehold Township, died June 29, 2007, at The Manor Care Center, Freehold Township. Mrs. Smith was born in South Langhorne, Pa., and had resided in Morrisville, Pa., before moving to Freehold Township more than 50 years ago. Mrs. Smith was a burler at the former A&M Karagheusian rug mill, Freehold. She was also employed by M&Q Plastics, Freehold, as well as at Charms Co. and Worthington Biochemical Co., both of Freehold Township. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Freehold. She was predeceased by her husband, Russell Smith, in 1968. Surviving are a son, William Russell Smith of California; a daughter, Linda Smith of Freehold Township; and two grandchildren, William Russell Smith Jr. and Brian Alexander Smith. Funeral services were held at Higgins Memorial Home with the Rev. David F. Bowman officiating. Interment took place at Old Tennent Cemetery, Tennent section of Manalapan. Donald J. Bradley

Mr. Bradley, 79, of Freehold Township, died June 30, 2007, at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. Born in Manhattan, N.Y., he had lived there and in the Egbertville section of Staten Island, N.Y., before moving to Silvermead in 1994. Prior to retiring in 1981, Mr. Bradley worked for the Telephone Sales and Service Corp., New York City. He also had worked for General Motors, Cadillac division, New York City. He was predeceased by his wife, Marie T. Bradley; and a brother, Harry Bradley. Surviving are two daughters and sons-in-law, Donna and Wayne Hopkins of Forked River; and Pat and Tom Del Galdo of Howell; two grandsons; a sister, Ann Boyle of Massapequa Park, Long Island, N.Y. A funeral Mass was offered at St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church, Freehold Township, followed by interment in Moravian Cemetery, Staten Island.

Fabbrizio R. ‘Fred’ Cappeto

Mr. Cappeto of Freehold Township, died June 30, 2007, at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., he had lived there and in Long Island, N.Y., before settling in Freehold in 1975. Prior to retiring in 1994, Mr. Cappeto was a school bus driver for the Freehold Regional High School District for 18 years. He had previously been a member of the Teamsters, NYC Local No. 831, working for the city of New York Sanitation Department for 21 years, retiring in 1973. Mr. Cappeto was a World War II veteran who served in the U.S. Navy throughout the Pacific Theater. He was a parishioner of St. Rose of Lima Roman Catholic Church, Freehold. He was also a member of V.F.W. Post 4374, Freehold, and the Silvermead Community Club. He was predeceased by his wife, Marie A. Cappeto; a son, Gerard “Jerry” Cappeto; a brother, Pat Cappeto; and a sister, Mary Certo. Surviving are a daughter, Ann Bogensberger of Howell; three grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two brothers, Armond Cappeto of Spring Hill, Fla., and Louis Cappeto of Scottsdale, Ariz.; a sister, Connie “Dolly” Gioia of Boca Raton, Fla.; many nieces and nephews; and his best friend, George Sabol of Freehold Township. A funeral Mass was offered at St. Rose of Lima Roman Catholic Church, Freehold, followed by interment in St. Mary of the Lake Cemetery, Lakewood. Memorial contributions in memory of Fred may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942.

Peter T. Dellera

Mr. Dellera, of Nokomis, Fla., died April 5, 2007, at Venice Regional Medical Center, Venice, Fla. Born in Elizabeth, he had resided in Freehold for 20 years, as well as in Brick, before moving to Nokomis seven years ago. Prior to retiring, he was a regional sales manager for the Kiwi Shoe Polish Corp., Pottstown, Pa. He was a veteran of the Army Medical Specialists Corps. Mr. Dellera was predeceased by his wife, Shirley, in December. Surviving are two sons, Bruce Mittleman of Farmingdale and Mark Mittleman of Freehold Township; a daughter, Wendy Most of Trenton; and a granddaughter, Jennifer Most. A memorial gathering was held June 28, followed by a memorial service at Freeman Funeral Home, Freehold.

Earl Fowler Hicks

Mr. Hicks, 83, of Gloucester, Va., formerly of Freehold, died June 16, 2007, in Gloucester. He was born in Tulsa, Okla. From the 1950s until he retired in 1980, Mr. Hicks worked as an electronics technician at Fort Monmouth. He was a member of the teams that developed the TIROS (Television Infrared Observation Satellite) weather satellite and the Vanguard rocket during the early years of the space program. He served in both World War II and the Korean War, attaining the rank of staff sergeant in the U.S. Army Signal Corps. Upon leaving the military, he performed demolition work for the National Forestry Service. After retiring to Gloucester, Mr. Hicks served as a lector at the Church of St. Therese, Gloucester, for many years. He was predeceased by his wife of 50 years, Helen Clancy Hicks; a brother, S.T. Hicks; two sisters-in-law, Geraldine Hicks and Elizabeth Clancy; and two brothers-in-law, Edward and Joseph Clancy. He is survived by a daughter, Hilarie Hicks of Gloucester; a brother, Robert Lee Hicks of San Antonio, Texas; two sisters-in-law, Margaret Clancy of Freehold and Mary Clancy of the New Egypt section of Plumsted; and three generations of nieces and nephews in New Jersey, Delaware and Texas. A funeral liturgy was celebrated at St. Rose of Lima Roman Catholic Church, Freehold, where he was married 54 years ago. Interment followed at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery, Freehold Township.

Gloria Elizabeth Stevenson

Mrs. Stevenson, 83, of Marlboro, died June 16, 2007, at home. Mrs. Stevenson was born in Lakewood and had lived in Marlboro for the past 64 years. Prior to retiring, she was a medical technologist for Marlboro Psychiatric Hospital. She was also formerly employed at the office of Dr. Donald Reynolds, Freehold. Mrs. Stevenson was predeceased by two brothers, Gene and Jay Burns. Surviving are her husband, Linford A. Stevenson; a daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and Nicholas Accisano; and three grandchildren, Patti, Nicholas IV and John; and several nieces and nephews. Louise O’Donnell

Mrs. O’Donnell, 66, of Manalapan, died June 17, 2007, at Saint Peter’s University Hospital, New Brunswick. Born and raised in Brooklyn, N.Y., she had lived there and in Staten Island, N.Y., before settling in Manalapan in 1999. She was a parishioner of St. Thomas More Roman Catholic Church, Manalapan. Mrs. O’Donnell was predeceased by her husband, William; a son, James O’Donnell; and her father, James Rosciano. Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Kathleen and Anthony Fleref of Manalapan; her mother, Helen Rosciano of Manalapan; three brothers, Joseph Rosciano of North Carolina, James Rosciano of Howell, and Thomas Rosciano of North Carolina; and five grandchildren. A funeral Mass was offered at St. Thomas More Church, followed by interment at the Cemetery of the Resurrection, Staten Island. Memorial contributions may be sent to the Susan G. Paul Cohen

Mr. Cohen, 67, of Marlboro, died June 18, 2007, at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., he moved to Marlboro in 1973. He was the owner of Silva-Cone Photography Studios, New York City, for more than 14 years, retiring in 1990. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, where he served as a medic. Mr. Cohen was a member and past chancellor commander of Conqueror Lodge, Knights of Pythias of Brooklyn. Surviving are his wife, Laurel Berman Cohen; three children, Marc Cohen of Union City, Jodi Mostowsky of Freehold Township, and Stacey Reiss of Marlboro; and five grandchildren. Services were held at Bloomfield-Cooper Jewish Chapels, Manalapan.

Terrance Anthony Hill

Mr. Hill, 40, of Freehold, died June 20, 2007, at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune. Born in Neptune, he had resided in Freehold for most of his life. He worked as a cook in the food-service department at Foodtown, Freehold, and had previously been a cook at Marlboro Psychiatric Hospital for eight years. He was a member of Bethel A.M.E. Church, Freehold. Mr. Hill is survived by his parents, Carl Hill Sr. of Freehold and Regina Miles of Jackson; a daughter, Miana Hill of Jackson; a brother, Carl Hill of Freehold Township; and a sister, Miesha DeJesus of Jackson. Funeral services were held at Bethel A.M.E. Church, followed by interment at Old Tennent Cemetery, Tennent section of Manalapan. Maxwell Glazer

Mr. Glazer, 76, of Freehold, died June 21, 2007, at The Brookside, Freehold. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., he had lived in Staten Island, N.Y., and Manalapan before moving to Freehold in 2003. Mr. Glazer worked in sales at L.B. Electric Supply Co., Brooklyn, for more than 30 years before retiring in 1996. A U.S. Army veteran, he served in the Korean War. He was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local No. 3. Mr. Glazer is survived by his wife, Lois; two daughters and their husbands, Mindy and Douglas Wille of Freehold Township, and Barbara Glazer and Philip Morton of Los Angeles, Calif.; a stepdaughter, Sherri Rogers of Brooklyn; a brother and his wife, Saul and Renee Glazer of Florida; and four grandchildren. A funeral service was held at Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, Freehold Township, followed by interment in Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Cemetery, Arnytown.

Laura E. Weld

Mrs. Weld, 82, of Eatontown, died June 21, 2007, at home. Born in Altoona, Pa., she had resided in Fair Haven and Scobeyville before moving to Eatontown in 1978. She was predeceased by her husband, Everett V. Weld Sr., in 1997, and a son, Everett V. Weld Jr., in 1999. She is survived by a daughter, Patricia Gronostajski of Freehold; a granddaughter; and a great-grandson. Services were held under the direction of the Higgins Memorial Home, Freehold. Michelle Lee Beagle

Ms. Beagle, 40, of Philadelphia, died June 22, 2007, at home. Born in Atlantic City, she had lived in Manalapan before moving to Philadelphia 18 years ago. She graduated from the Philadelphia College of Textiles & Science (now Philadelphia University) with a bachelor of arts degree in marketing and was a saleswoman for Headline Promotions in Bristol, Pa. Ms. Beagle was a member of St. Thomas Lutheran Church, Manalapan. She was predeceased in 1993 by her father, James. Surviving are her mother, Barbara Ann Beagle of Manalapan; a brother, Douglas Beagle, also of Manalapan; and a niece, Meaghan Parsons. The funeral service was held at St. Thomas Lutheran Church, followed by interment at Old Tennent Cemetery, Tennent section of Manalapan. Howard Stallon

Mr. Stallon, 53, of Marlboro, died June 29, 2007, at home. Born in the Bronx, N.Y., he had lived in Marlboro for 16 years. He was a member of the Marlboro Jewish Center. Surviving are his wife of 17 years, Robin Condiotti Stallon; a son, Brett Stallon, at home; and a sister, Cheryl Goldstein of Weston, Fla. Services were held at Bloomfield-Cooper Jewish Chapels,, Manalapan, followed by interment at Mount Sinai Cemetery, Marlboro.
