Luigi Porcaro

Longtime Princeton resident
   
Luigi Porcaro of Princeton died suddenly Monday at his home while tending his garden. He was 82.
   Born in San Giovanni, Cippaloni Benevento, Italy, and the oldest of seven siblings, he was a Princeton resident since 1958.
   Prior to coming to the United States, he served in law enforcement as a carabiniere for 12 years.
   Mr. Porcaro had been employed at Van Nostrand and Co. in Princeton. Later he was employed at Princeton Pool and Patio Co., retiring in 1989.
   He was an avid gardener and enjoyed playing cards with friends, working on both his Princeton home and his shore home and spending time with his dog, Sonny. He was known for his sense of humor.
   Son of the late Erminia and Vito Porcaro, he is survived by his wife of 52 years, Francesca; daughter Erminia "Mimi" of Lawrence; and son Vito of Princeton.
   A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Paul’s Roman Catholic Church, 214 Nassau St., Princeton.
   Burial will follow in Princeton Cemetery.
   Calling hours are 6 to 9 p.m. Friday and 8 to 9 a.m. Saturday at Kimble Funeral Home, 1 Hamilton Ave., Princeton.

Sister lives in Princeton
   
HOPEWELL — George John LemMon died July 10 at St. Francis Medical Center, Trenton. He was 62.
   Born in Somerville and raised in Hopewell, he was a graduate of Princeton High School.
   He was a retired self-employed house painter.
   He was a member of Knights of Columbus affiliated with St. Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church, Hightstown.
   Son of the late Alice and George LemMon, father of the late George S. LemMon, he is survived by his wife, Grace LemMon; son and daughter-in-law Erik and Kimberlee LemMon of East Windsor; sisters and brothers-in-law Pat and Tony Schannel of Lawrence and Jeanne and Don Smith of Princeton; brother and sister-in-law John and Kathleen LemMon of Lawrence; and many nieces and nephews.
   The funeral was Friday.
   Memorial contributions may be made to American Diabetes Association, National Processing Center, P.O. Box 11537, Alexandria, VA 22312.
   Arrangements were by Kimble Funeral Home, Princeton.
Oswald G. Hoepfner

Farmer and milkman
   
MONTGOMERY — Oswald George Hoepfner died Saturday at home. He was 97.
   Born in Metuchen, he was a resident of Montgomery for 92 years.
   Mr. Hoepfner was a self-employed farmer, milkman and landscaper.
   He was a graduate of Bound Brook High School and a regular at Cook College continuing education courses.
   His memberships included the National Rifle Association, Griggstown Fire Company, Gobblers Knob Hunting Club, Griggstown Sportsman Club, Van Harlingen Historical Society, Griggstown Reformed Church, and The NJ Fire/Police Association.
   He was an avid environmentalist, fisherman and hunter.
   Son of the late Emma and Oswald G. Hoepfner Sr., husband of the late Ann Hoepfner, who died in 1987, he is survived by his son, Oswald Paul Hoepfner of Montgomery; brother Karl A Hoepfner of Dunedin, Fla.; and a sister Hera Teresa Bruhn of Woodstock, Ill.
   The funeral will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Griggstown Cemetery.
   Calling hours will be 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Kimble Funeral Home, 1 Hamilton Ave., Princeton.

Jack L. Cover


Montgomery Ministries member
   
HILLSBOROUGH — Jack L. Cover died Thursday. He was 65.
   Born in Peru, Ind., he was a Hillsborough resident since 1978.
   Mr. Cover was a member of Montgomery Ministries, based in Montgomery Township.
   A chemist, he began his career at Corn Products Corp. in Chicago, continued with Best Foods in Union and retired in 2002 from Unilever Corp. of Englewood Cliffs after a total work career at the company and its predecessors of 38 years.
   He graduated from Ashland College in Ohio with a degree in chemistry.
   He is survived by his wife, Carol; son Chris Cover of Hillsborough; stepmother Joan Cover; half-sisters Ellen Cofer and Nancy Fields; and half-brother Sid Cover.
   The funeral will be 3 p.m. today at First United Methodist Church, 48 West High St., Somerville.
