Doris S. Kulawiec

Mrs. Kulawiec, 76, of Rumson, died July 19, 2007, at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune. She resided in East Norriton, Pa., and Spring Lake, prior to relocating to Rumson. She was a communicant of Holy Cross Church, Rumson. She enjoyed travel, cooking, gardening and time with her grandchildren. She was predeceased by a brother, John Gross 16 years ago. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Frederick “Fred” Kulawiec; two daughters and sons-in-law, Carol and Joseph Belmonte, and Nancy and Gregory Maloof, all of Fair Haven; and four grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at Holy Cross Church. Interment was at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Middletown. Arrangements were by Thompson Memorial Home, Red Bank.

James E. Egan

Mr. Egan, 70, of Myrtle Beach, S.C., and formerly Fair Haven, died July 19, 2007, at home. He resided in Fair Haven, Connecticut and California prior to relocating to South Carolina. He was a retired mortgage banker at Master Financial Group, Palm Springs, Calif. He was a former member of the Lions Club, and volunteer fireman when he resided in Connecticut. He enjoyed golf. He was predeceased by a brother, Rev. Jack Egan. He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Jan Egan of Long Branch; two daughters and one son-in-law, Kelly Ann and Raymond Kelly of the River Plaza section of Middletown, and Erin Egan of Red Bank; a brother, Richard Egan of Dover; a sister, Lynn Truex of Neptune; and five grandchildren. Garvin Taylor Craw

Mr. Craw of Little Silver died July 27, 2007, at St. Barnabas Hospice Unit at Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch. He was born in Montclair. He was a founding partner of the government securities dealer G.X. Clark & Company. Prior to that, he played professional football for the Boston Patriots. He was named the 1969 New Jersey Collegiate Athlete of the Year, and played in the Rose Bowl Game in 1970 with the University of Michigan. He was an avid skier and golfer. He is survived by his wife, Susan Elizabeth; a daughter, Stacey Craw Papera; two sons, Richard Corey and Matthew Bannon Craw; his parents, Nancy and Richard Craw; a brother, Richard Taylor; and two grandchildren. A funeral service will be Aug. 2 at 11 a.m. at St. George’s-by-the-River Episcopal Church, Rumson. Arrangements are by Thompson Memorial Home, Red Bank. Memorial donations may be made to Graduate M. Kathleen A. Tanner

Miss Tanner, 47, of Red Bank, died July 26, 2007, at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. She was a birth certificate associate in the labor and delivery department at Riverview Medical Center for 11 years. She was active in fundraising for the American Cancer Society, and received several awards for her work, such as the Orion Award. She is survived by her parents, Pauline and James A. Tanner of Rumson; a sister and brother-in-law, Sheryl and Robert Hassfeld of Oceanport; a niece, Jennie; and her companion, Ronald Forfar. Interment was at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Middletown. Mr. Mazza, 22, of Long Branch, died July 22, 2007, in Richmond, Va., following injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident. Born in Long Branch, he resided there most of his life. He was a corporal in the U.S. Marine Corps, and served two deployments in the Middle East during Operation Enduring Freedom. He received the Purple Heart and several other commendations from the U.S. Navy and U.S. Government. Prior to that, he was a lifeguard at Seven Presidents Oceanfront Park, Long Branch. He was a 2003 graduate of Long Branch High School. He was a communicant of St. Michael’s Roman Catholic Church, Long Branch; and member of and deacon at Freedom Worship Center, Jacksonville, N.C. He was predeceased by his paternal grandmother, Gladys B. Mazza. He is survived by his parents, Jim and Vicky Williams Mazza; two sisters, Megan G. Mazza and Jamie Mazza, both Long Branch; his paternal grandfather, James G. Mazza, M.D., and his wife Lorraine Mazza of Boynton Beach, Fla.; his maternal grandparents, Elizabeth and Edward Williams of Fort Myers, Fla.; and his fianceé, Rebecca Ann Howell of Wilmington, N.C. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Michael’s Church. Interment was at Woodbine Cemetery, Oceanport. Arrangements were by Woolley Funeral Home, Long Branch.
