Peggy Ann Thornton

   HILLSBOROUGH – Peggy Ann (Spann) Thornton, 55, died Aug. 9 at her home.
   Born in Somerville, she graduated Somerville High School in 1971 and moved to Hillsborough in 1998.
   Ms. Thornton worked at Reckitt Benckiser in Hillsborough for the past 28 years.
   Daughter of the late Eugene Thornton and Iola Wesley and stepdaughter of the late Richard Wesley, she is survived by two sisters and brothers-in-law, Stephanie and Stacey Field Sr. of Somerset, Ellen and Robert Enoch of New Brunswick; stepchildren, Katina Spann and Tony Spann; step-grandchildren, Shana Spann and Joshua Spann; two nephews, Harold Rogan, Stacey Field Jr. and his wife, Jacqueline; a niece, Vernedia Field; great-nephew, Stephanie Rogan; great-nephew, Elijah Field; her companion of nine years, Fred Goddard and his children, Lisa and Richard Goddard; and a very close friend, Mary Grimes.
   Funeral services were held 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 14 at Hillsborough Funeral Home, 796 Route 206, Hillsborough. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Peggy’s name to the Plainfield Area Humane Society, 75 Rock Ave., Plainfield, NJ 07063 or online at PAHS.petfinder.org.
