Historic village fair scheduled for Sept. 29

The 33rd annual Village Street Fair, sponsored by the Historic Village of Old Bridge Community Group Inc., East Brunswick, will take place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sept. 29 at the corner of Old Bridge Turnpike and Main Street, East Brunswick.

Admission is free of charge. Proceeds from the event will support community projects in the historic village. The fair will feature antiques and collectibles, decorative handcrafted items and jewelry, historic displays, food and baked goods, children’s activities and information on local civic organizations.

Visitors are welcome to tour the Historic Village Community Garden, located at the corner of Old Bridge Turnpike and Kossman Street. The garden is the cooperative effort of village homeowners, the township of East Brunswick and local businesses.

The East Brunswick Museum, located in the historic village, will be open for tours throughout the day. The museum houses a collection of local farm tools, Victorian clothing, photographs and pottery artifacts from the area. Narrated walking tours of the village will begin at the rear door of the museum; tour times will be posted.

Copies of the Historic Village walking-tour booklet will be available at the fair and in the museum. The booklet includes information on homes and locations in the historic section that were important to the economic and cultural development of East Brunswick. Space is still available for additional vendors and displays at the fair.
