Dorothy G. Fauser

Mrs. Fauser, 88, of Howell, died Sept. 27, 2007, at Madison Center, Matawan. Born in Freehold, she was a lifelong area resident. Mrs. Fauser was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church of Freehold. She was predeceased by her husband, Charles, in 1975, as well as two sisters, Helen and Matilda. Surviving are two sons, Charles R. Fauser of Farmingdale and Ned B. Fauser of Westmore, Vt.; a daughter, Bonnie Gann of Monroe; a sister, Marion Corliss of Freehold; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. A funeral service was held Oct. 3 in Newport, Vt., followed by interment at Lakeview Cemetery, Westmore. The Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, Freehold Township, was in charge of local arrangements.

Anna Elizabeth Leger

Mrs. Leger, 73, of Manchester Township, died Sept. 17, 2007, at home. She was born in the Bronx, N.Y., and had resided in Freehold Township and the New Egypt section of Plumsted before moving to Manchester Township a few weeks ago. Prior to retiring, she was an operator at Six Flags Great Adventure, Jackson. She also was a former member of the Millstone Township First Aid Squad. Mrs. Leger was predeceased by her husband, Edward J. Leger, in 1987, as well as two sons, Edward J. Leger Jr. in 1964 and Jeremiah Leger in 2000. Surviving are a son, John C. Leger of West Palm Beach, Fla.; two daughters, JoAnn Marie Leger of Howell and Jacqueline Renee Leger of Manchester Township; a brother, Howard Morris of California; and seven grandchildren. Funeral services were held at Higgins Memorial Home, Freehold, followed by interment at Forest Green Park Cemetery, Marlboro.

Robert L. Kircher

Mr. Kircher, 86, of the East Price Hill section of Cincinnati, formerly of Englishtown, died Aug. 6, 2007, in Cincinnati. Born in Kentucky, he had lived in Cincinnati before moving to Staten Island, N.Y., in 1954. He moved to Englishtown in 1965 and resided there until 1987, when he returned to Cincinnati. He was a musician, vocalist and composer. Mr. Kircher studied trombone, voice, composition and counterpoint at the College of Music of Cincinnati and continued to pursue careers in both classical and pop music. He used the name “Bob Kross” while working as a trombonist, vocalist and arranger for dance bands in the Cincinnati area. He played with many bands from the big-band era and studied voice at the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music. He sang with the Cincinnati Summer Opera and in February 1953 performed the role of Petruccio opposite his wife in “The Taming of the Shrew.” He received a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree from the Manhattan School of Music in New York City and was the musical director at Port Richmond High School in Staten Island for 25 years. After moving to Englishtown, he became the choir director at Old Tennent Presbyterian Church in Manalapan, where he served for 22 years. He composed a cantata for the church’s 300th anniversary celebration in 1992 and also composed a piece titled “Lest We Forget” – which was performed in 2006 at a celebration in Washington, D.C. – to mark the 60th anniversary of the end of World War II. Mr. Kircher served in the U.S. Coast Guard during World War II and in its dance band. He was a member of the Syrian Shrine and the Shrine Band, as well as the Scottish Rite. In addition, he was a past master of Olive Branch Masonic Lodge No. 16 of Freehold. He was predeceased by his first wife of 37 years, Dorothy Anne Kircher. Surviving are his second wife of 16 years, Marilyn Rauschert Kircher; a daughter and son-in-law, Debby and Fred Tulk of Freehold; a son and daughter-in-law, Bruce and Melanie Kircher of Cincinnati; three stepsons, Robert, Andrew and Matthew Stetson, all of Cincinnati; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. A memorial service was held Aug. 14 at Cedars of Lebanon Chapel at Spring Grove Cemetery, Cincinnati. Joseph J. Rossotto

Mr. Rossotto, 89, of Jackson, died Sept. 16, 2007, at home. He was born and raised in Jersey City, where he had lived before moving to Jackson in 2003. Prior to retiring in 1972, he worked in the gas division of Public Service Electric & Gas (PSE&G) Co., Jersey City, for more than 25 years. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. Mr. Rossotto is survived by his wife, Jennie Rossotto; a son and daughter-in-law, Charlie and Carmella Rossotto of Colts Neck; a daughter and son-in-law, RoseAnn and Walter Woronkewycz of Millstone; a sister, Anna Buttacavole of Toms River; and three grandchildren, Joseph, Jenine and William. A funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, Perrineville section of Millstone, followed by interment at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington. Mary K. Gijanto

Mrs. Gijanto, 61, of Howell and North Hutchinson Island, Fla., died Sept. 19, 2007, at Community Medical Center, Toms River. Her nickname was “Mania,” pronounced Monya. Born in Jersey City, she had lived there before moving to Ridgefield Park and Millville. She settled in Howell in 1980, while also spending time in Florida. Mrs. Gijanto was a labor and delivery nurse at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township, since 1980. She was a former parishioner of and Confraternity of Christian Doctrine (CCD) teacher at St. Veronica’s Roman Catholic Church, Howell, and St. Robert Bellarmine Roman Catholic Church, Freehold Township. She was also a past president of the PTO at Land O’ Pines School in Howell. Mrs. Gijanto was predeceased by a son, Joseph L. Gijanto, in 1995, as well as her parents, Florence and James Howley. Surviving are her husband, Joseph Gijanto; four daughters, Jill Gijanto of Teaneck, Susan Gijanto and Pamela Gijanto, both of Howell, and Liza Gijanto of Syracuse, N.Y.; three sisters and a brother-in-law, Peggy Howley of Little Falls, Eileen and Louis DeMicco of Teaneck, and Patricia Howley of Woodbridge; and two nieces and six nephews. A funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Veronica’s Church, followed by interment at St. Nicholas Cemetery, Lodi. The Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, Freehold Township, was in charge of arrangements.

Rose Marrandino

Mrs. Marrandino, 86, of Howell, died Sept. 20, 2007, at home. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., she had lived there and in East Windsor before moving to The Villages, Howell, in 1974. She was a bookkeeper for A.C. Nelson and the Mead Paper Co., both of New York City, for more than 30 years. She was a parishioner of St. Rose of Lima Roman Catholic Church, Freehold. She was also a member of the Howell Township Senior Citizens, the Howell Senior Friendship Club and the AARP. Mrs. Marrandino was predeceased by three sisters, Camille Bongiorno in 1997, Nicoletta “Clara” Marrandino in 1999 and Marie Ruggiero in 2002. Surviving are three nieces, MaryAnne Corcia, Andrea McIntyre and Julia DiMuro, and a nephew, Frank Bongiorno. A funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Chapel, Freehold, followed by interment at St. Charles Cemetery, Pinelawn, N.Y. Luigi “Louis” Chiappetta

Mr. Chiappetta, of Freehold Township, died Sept. 30, 2007, at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. He was born in Fiumefreddo, Calabria, Italy. When he came to the United States, he settled in Staten Island, N.Y., before moving to Freehold Township 15 years ago. Mr. Chiappetta was a proprietor of his own shoe-repair store, first in Brooklyn, N.Y., and later in Staten Island. He was a parishioner of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Colts Neck. Surviving are his wife of more than 60 years, Carol Chilelli Chiappetta; two sons, Vincent Chiappetta of Sayreville and Louis Chiappetta of Jackson; a daughter, Lilly Chiappetta of Freehold; a sister, Nella Chiappetta of Italy; and four grandchildren. A funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, Freehold, followed by entombment at Holmdel Cemetery. C. Richard Flock

Mr. Flock, 84, of Colts Neck, died Sept. 16, 2007, at home. He was born in Long Branch and was a lifelong resident of Colts Neck. Prior to retiring in 1985, he was a dairy and potato farmer for more than 50 years. Together with his father and his brother, he operated the 400- acre Maple Lawn Farm in Colts Neck. Mr. Flock was honored by the Monmouth County Board of Agriculture. He was a lifelong member of the Colts Neck Reformed Church, where he served on the consistory; a charter member of the Colts Neck Lions Club; a volunteer for Freehold Area Open Door Inc.; and a member of the Woodland Hunting Club. Surviving are his wife of 59 years, Carolyn Smith Flock; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Lana C. Binaco, Sue A. and Victor U. Boyd, and Dr. Lori E. and Stephen D. LaRue; a brother and sister-in-law, William R. and Marjorie F. Flock; and five grandchildren. Funeral services were held at the Colts Neck Reformed Church, with the Rev. Scott D. Brown officiating. Concetta Casale

Mrs. Casale, 87, of Freehold Township, died Sept. 28, 2007, at home. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., she had lived in Staten Island, N.Y., before moving to Freehold Township in 1992. She was a homemaker. Mrs. Casale was predeceased in 2000 by her husband, Dominick, and in 1972 by a son, Vincent. She is survived by two sons, Gregory C. Casale of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and Thomas Casale of Tampa, Fla.; two daughters, Josephine Garcia of Staten Island and Isabella Basile of Freehold Township; 14 grandchildren; and eight greatgrandchildren. A funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Robert Bellarmine Roman Catholic Church, Freehold Township, followed by interment at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery, also Freehold Township. Jerrold Joseph Eisen

Mr. Eisen, 61, of Manalapan, died Sept. 23, 2007, at Hahnemann University Hospital, Philadelphia. Born in the Bronx, N.Y., he had resided there and in Stamford, Conn., before moving to Manalapan 23 years ago. Mr. Eisen was employed as an information technology director for International Paper/Shorewood Packaging, New York City. An avid golfer, he is survived by his wife of 29 years, Daria; a son, David Eisen of Manalapan; two daughters and a son-in-law, Victoria and Joseph Detz of Hamilton Square, and Marisa Eisen of Manalapan; a sister, Florence “Cookie” Freund of Pembroke Pines, Fla.; a niece and nephew, Eileen and Al Gavilondo; and two great-nieces and a great-nephew. Mary Ann Wiswall

Mrs. Wiswall, of Freehold, died Sept. 25, 2007, at home. Born in Englewood, she had resided in Freehold Township for 39 years before moving to Freehold 2 ½ years ago. She was a graduate of St. Cecilia’s High School in Englewood and a communicant of St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, Colts Neck. Mrs. Wiswall was predeceased by her husband, Joseph M. Wiswall, in 1993, as well as a brother, George Rathbun, and a sister, Catherine Sands. Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Dennis Michael and Mary Elizabeth Wiswall of Newfane, Vt., and Kevin Joseph and April Joan Wiswall of Beachwood; a daughter, Karen Bernice Nielsen of Freehold; two brothers, Patrick Rathbun of Glen Rock and Harold Louis Rathbun of Middletown, N.Y.; a sister, Dorothy Fuhrman of Teaneck; eight grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. Joseph Posid

Mr. Posid, 87, of Howell, died Sept. 27, 2007, at home. Born in Youngstown, Ohio, he had lived in Ozone Park, N.Y., before moving to Howell 13 years ago. Mr. Posid was a mail carrier with the U.S. Postal Service for 19 ½ years in the Kew Gardens, N.Y., and South Ozone Park post offices. A U.S. Army veteran of World War II, he fought in the European theater of operations. He was a parishioner of St. Robert Bellarmine Roman Catholic Church, Freehold Township. He was a member of the Howell Men’s Club, Senior Social Club and Senior Friendship Club. Mr. Posid is survived by his wife, Stella Posid; three sons and daughtersin law, Steven and Lynn Posid of Silver Spring, Md., Joseph and Ginny Posid of Atlanta, and Michael and Lynn Posid of Garnerville, N.Y.; a daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and George Ulitsky of Nassau, N.Y.; seven grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter. A funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Robert Bellarmine Church, followed by interment at Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Cemetery, Arnytown section of North Hanover. Kendra Ann Stockman

Mrs. Stockman, 50, of Freehold Township, died Sept. 20, 2007, at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. Born in Port Chester, N.Y., she had lived there and in Manalapan before moving to Freehold Township. She was a homemaker. Mrs. Stockman attended Ardena Baptist Church in Howell. She was an active member of Hands of Hope, Farmingdale, and also received her black belt from the Christian Karate Academy, Freehold Township. She was predeceased by her mother, JoAnne Platerotti, in 1995. Surviving are a daughter, Kady Stockman, at home; her former husband, Ivan Stockman of Howell; and close friend James Moynihan (and family) of Point Pleasant.
