For the Record

A Sept. 13 article regarding Monroe Township’s efforts to build a high school in a section of Thompson Park included a quote from Richard Walling, an opponent of the township’s plan, who claimed that the township’s hired archeologist, Richard Grubb & Associates, had been “paid to report that there was no Indian connection” to the park land. The Sentinel, which obtained Richard Grubb’s response to Walling’s comment and printed this response in the same story, did not intend to imply that the firm had acted inappropriately in any way regarding its survey or its report. Despite Walling’s claim, the Sentinel has no reason to believe the archeological firm has done anything inappropriately in its work for Monroe. This clarification was printed at Richard Grubb’s request.
