EDITORIAL: Montgomery Township endorsements

PRINCETON PACKET EDITORIAL
Democratic incumbents Louise Wilson and Brad Fay are being challenged by Republicans Frank Drift and Patricia Graham for two seats on the Montgomery Township Committee and Democrat Michael Joye and Republican Kacey Dyer are competing to fill a vacant seat.
We are endorsing Ms. Wilson, Ms. Graham and Mr. Joye.
Ms. Wilson’s grasp of township issues still merits support, as does her effectiveness in promoting an alternative to the Route 206 Bypass.
Ms. Graham, campaigning with evident intelligence and commitment, would bring the right mix of challenge and collaboration to a Democratic majority that displays a keener ear for accolades than for legitimate questions and concerns — particularly as such projects as the cleanup and development of the former North Princeton Developmental Center site move from conception to implementation.
Mr. Joye is an impressive, accomplished man with a history of putting principal over personal profit or politics. He resigned as general counsel to a major insurance company to protest questionable practices and left the GOP over Iraq and other issues. We would expect him to bring the same independence of action to a term on the Montgomery Township Committee.
