Mr. Salerno, 68, of Freehold, died Nov. 7, 2007, at Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch. Born in the Bronx, N.Y., he had lived in Mount Laurel before moving to Freehold 10 years ago. Mr. Salerno was a senior technical researcher for General Foods Corp., Cranbury, for 25 years. He then worked at Campbell Soup Co., Camden, for more than 10 years, retiring in 1997. Mr. Salerno was a charter member of Jackson Elks Lodge No. 2744 and a member of Knights of Columbus Council No. 1672, Freehold. He was predeceased by a brother, Charles A. Salerno, in 2005. Surviving are his wife, Willie Anne Salerno; three daughters and sonsin law, Sharon and Donald West of Freehold, Constance and Dennis Fisher of Maple Shade, and Carrie and Walter Parlow of Sicklerville; a sister-in-law, Arline Salerno of Canton, Ga.; six grandchildren; three nieces and a nephew; and several grandnieces and grandnephews. A funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Rose of Lima Roman Catholic Church, Freehold, followed by entombment at Maplewood Cemetery, Freehold Township. The Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, Freehold Township, was in charge of arrangements.
