Wine tasting a success

Henry Richards and Mark Stewart
Saint Andrew’s Church expresses its appreciation to all those whose generous contributions helped make our Dec. 1 wine tasting a success:
David Rago and the Rago Arts and Auction Center for the use of the upper gallery at its annex on North Union Street and especially Michael Ingham and Kevin LoFaro of the center, whose assistance was invaluable.
Ed Marra of Wine 54 on Route 179 in Mount Airy, who provided the wines for tasting and also donated wines for the raffle, and the distributors’ representatives, who poured the wines and chatted knowledgeably about them — Chuck Slack, Allied Beverage Group; Kurt Baier, Gateway-Perrone Distributors; Chris Quarles, American BD Company; and Richard Micketti, North East Wine Co.
The following merchants for a sumptuous array of food and soft drinks — Giant supermarket, New Hope; ShopRite, Flemington; Thai Tida Restaurant, Lambertville; Aliceann’s “Unique” Desserts and Catering, Lambertville, and Ennis’ Market, Lambertville, which is now under the ownership of Colleen Case.
Brian Szaslarski for flowers and flower arrangement; Elite Linens, Lambertville, for lending tablecloths; Lambertville Station for donating a gift certificate for two for the Riverside champagne buffet brunch; Marty Wheelwright for Princeton Pro Musica for the donation of two tickets to the Princeton Pro Musica performance of “Messiah;” and the Lambertville Chamber of Commerce for generous assistance with publicity.
Also, Philip Maltese and Kitty Kaiser of Café Europa Trattoria, New Hope, for actively marketing the event.
The A-Team — a co-op of artists who regularly use the services of the Trenton Area Soup Kitchen — who let us show 60 beautiful paintings on the gallery walls and to its volunteer coordinator, Sue Darley.
We are happy to say 10 paintings were sold with all the proceeds — about $600 — going to the A-Team.
Special thanks to Jennifer Pedersen of Pederson Gallery for collaborating to curate and hang the A-Team show. Thanks also to her and to Judy Hen of Palette and Annelies vanDommelen for lending easels and stands.
The evening was a treat for everybody present and a real boon to the church and its work and mission. Again, thanks to everyone who contributed to its success.
