Classes in coordination, tai chi offered at center

The JFK Fitness Center is offering a six-session introductory program that will include balance and coordination classes. This form of workout is designed to help with daily activities in gaining more stability, flexibility and strength. Rich Lund, an instructor of tai chi and qigong for 20 years, will teach the course, which is offered to all regardless of gender, age or fitness level. The six-session course will be offered every Tuesday until Jan. 8, 9:30- 10:30 a.m. in the JFK auditorium, 65 James St., Edison.

A six-session introductory program to tai chi and qigong movements is also being offered. This form of workout incorporates various meditations in action to reduce tension, boost energy and alleviate stress. The program will also work on principles that develop calmness and relaxation, posture and strength, as well as balance and coordination. Lund will teach the course, which is offered to all regardless of gender, age or fitness level. The six-session course will be offered every Monday until Jan. 7, 4:30-5:30 p.m. at the Whispering Knoll fitness room, 62 James St., Edison The cost of each program is $60, and payment is required upon registration.
