   “Have A Heart for Homeless Families,” the signature fund raising event for Interfaith Hospitality Network of Somerset County (IHN/SC) has tickets currently available. Tickets are priced at $100 and sales will be limited to 500 tickets. Proceeds of ticket sales will be split, with 50 percent going directly to operational expenses for IHN/SC programs, and 50 percent awarded as a cash prize to the winner. The winning ticket is drawn on Valentine’s Day at the agency’s Day Center in Somerville; winner need not be present to win. Call the IHN/SC offices at 704-1920 to purchase tickets.
   The Wallace House and Old Dutch Parsonage historic site in Somerville offers private candlelight tours, available for groups of 10 or more, from December through March.    Rutgers New Jersey Agricultural Experiment Station announces the opening of registration for the Rutgers Environmental Stewards Class of 2008. Environmental Steward training is designed to introduce non-scientists to the science underlying key environmental issues in the Garden State. Leading authorities from academia are joined by colleagues from government and the non-profit sector to share understanding and insights with the students.    Drop-off for the First Saturday of the Month program will be held 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Somerset County Recycling Center, 40 Polhemus Lane. The Recycling Center accepts al types of electronics as well as tires, scrap metals, used motor oil, antifreeze, used oil filters, microwave ovens, and the usual curbside materials.    St. Mary’s Byzantine Catholic Church, Hillsborough will celebrate the Feast of Theophany by blessing the Raritan River at Duke Island Park located at 191 Old York Road, Bridgewater. Everyone is invited to assemble at St. Mary’s Fellowship Hall, 1900 Brooks Blvd., beginning at noon for a complimentary light luncheon social which will be followed by an automobile procession to Duke Island Park. People may also go directly to the Jaycee Grove parking area for the 1:30 p.m. service. While there is no charge for the luncheon, reservations are necessary by calling 725-0615.

   Hillsborough Township Committee rescheduled re-organization meeting will begin at 7 p.m. in the municipal complex.

   Borough of Millstone will hold its re-organization meeting at 7:30 p.m. in the Borough Hall on Main Street.

   Hillsborough Recreation Commission re-organization meeting will begin at 7:30 p.m. followed by a regular meeting in the municipal complex.
   Hillsborough Township Board of Adjustment will hold a re-organization meeting at 7 p.m. followed by its regular meeting at 7:30 p.m. in the municipal complex.
   The next meeting of the Hillsborough Township Public School District’s Parent Advisory Committee (PAC) is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. in the Hillsborough Middle School Media Center. The PAC is forming an organization for parents of children who reside in Hillsborough Township and are accessing special education and/or related services.    Motor Vehicle Commission representatives will be visiting Hillsborough at 10 a.m. Jan. 14 in the municipal complex. The meeting will discuss the requirements on the six points for a digital drivers license with an emphasis on the clarification of the marriage certificate and birth certificate. The agenda will include The Richman Group of NJ, LLC File BA-07-02- Block 58, Lot 1.05 Campus Drive. Bifurcated use and preliminary and final site plan — carried from Dec. 15.
