   Happy New “You” health blitz is being planned at Somerset Valley YMCA during the month of January. New members will be eligible for membership savings up to $200, a free 12-week fitness program, free classes (based on availability) and prizes and give-a-ways.    Attention Middle School students.Get “fit for free” from January to March at Jazzercise Fitness Center on South Branch Road.    Hillsborough Township Planning Board will hold a re-organization meeting at 7 p.m. followed by a regular meeting at 7:30 p.m. in the municipal complex.
   The Christian Nurturing Center of the Neshanic Reformed Church, located at 715 Amwell Road, Hillsborough is hosting an open house from 5-6:30 p.m. and will be repeated from noon to 1 p.m. Jan. 11.    Only Orchids, from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., when specialists at Duke Farm in Hillsborough explain how orchids are exhibited and maintained. The history of orchids will be revealed as well as the flowers special features. After an Orchid Range tour, guests will pot and take home their very own orchids.    Art auction sponsored by Hillsborough Project Graduation will be held at Mary, Mother of God Church Hall, Triangle Road. The preview will begin at 7 p.m. and auction is offered at 8 p.m. Admission, $10 per person and includes hors d’oeuvres and desserts. For tickets and information, call 359-9972 or 281-7300.    Pourman’s Pub, on South Main Street in Manville, will host a fundraiser at 9 p.m. for The Juvenile Diabetes Foundation featuring performances by five bands, including Five Found Dead, The Rise and Fall, At Rest and Undercut.    The Planaterium at RVCC in North Branch, located on Lamington Road, will present a variety of star shows and laser concerts for audiences of all ages from January through March.    Hillsborough Board of Education will meet at 7:30 p.m. at Auten Road School.
   Hillsborough Township Environmental Commission will hold its re-organization meeting at 7:15 p.m., followed by a regular meeting at 7:45 p.m. in the municipal complex.
   A representative of the Motor Vehicle Commission will be visiting Hillsborough at 10 a.m. in the municipal complex. The meeting will discuss the requirements on the six points for a digital driver’s license with an emphasis on the clarification of the marriage certificate and birth certificate.    Somerset County Planning Board meeting will begin at 4:45 p.m. in the Somerset County Administration Building in Somerville.

   Hillsborough Board of Adjustment special meeting will begin at 7:30 p.m. in the Hillsborough Township municipal courtroom. The agenda will include The Richman Group of NJ, LLC File BA-07-02- Block 58, Lot 1.05 Campus Drive. Bifurcated use and preliminary and final site plan — carried from Dec. 15. Formal action may be taken. The board may conduct other Board of Adjustment business as necessary. The public is invited to attend.

   Secrets of Growing, from 10 a.m. to noon, reveals the secrets of Duke Farms’ master growers for propagating beautiful plants and flowers. The growing areas of Duke Farms will be opened for a behind-the-scenes look as the estate’s gardeners teach you how to propagate different types of plants and flowers. You’ll be able to practice what you learn by propagating your own specimen from the Duke Farms garden to take home and enjoy. The cost of the program is $20 per adult.    Boy and Cub Scouts Troop 193 fundraiser. National Wrestling Superstars make their return at 7:45 p.m. Jan. 18 to the Manville VFW Hall, 600 Washington Ave. Members of the wrestling fraternity will make their way to Manville.    Neshanic Garden Club will meet at 10:15 a.m. Jan 24 at the Station House on Olive Street, Neshanic. The monthly study will be “More about our wonderful birds” and the main program will begin at 11 a.m. Mary Kay Muckenhoupt and Committee will speak about the recognition, planting and propagation of “Native Wildflowers of New Jersey.” A light luncheon will follow at noon.
