Princeton group seeks voting security assurances for NJ primary

PRINCETON — The Princeton-based Coalition for Peace Action (CFPA) plans to call for "emergency action" to instill public confidence in New Jersey’s Feb. 5 presidential primary results at a press conference in Trenton on Tuesday, Jan. 15.
Expected to speak at the press conference, at 11 a.m. in Room 109 of the State House  are:
—US Rep. Rush Holt (D-12), who is the primary sponsor of a Verified Voting bill in the US House of Representatives that would mandate that voter verified paper ballots be part of every vote cast in federal elections in the US, as well as random audits of the results to ensure their accuracy;
— Prof. Penny Venetis, Co-Director of Rutgers University Law Schools Constitutional Litigation Clinic and CFPAs attorney in a lawsuit seeking verified voting in New Jersey;
— Irene Etkin Goldman, CFPA Steering Committee Chair;
— Stephanie Harris, Chair of CFPAs Voting Issues Task Force;
— The Rev. Robert Moore, CFPA Executive Director.
