Library seeks stories of best, worst, strange gifts

The Edison Public Library is asking teens to write their stories of the best, worst or strangest present ever received and why it deserves this distinction. All participants will receive a prize, with one entry selected for the grand prize.

The contest is open to all Edison teens age 12-17. Entry deadline is Feb. 19. Entries may be dropped off at any Edison library, including the bookmobile, or e-mailed to [email protected]. Include name, age and school with the entry. For more information, call (732) 287-2351, ext. 247.T

he Main Library, 340 Plainfield Ave, will present “Clarence Goes out West and Meets a Purple Cow” Feb 7. at 6:30 p.m. Aimed at children in grades K-3, the program is based on a book by the same name. For information, call (732) 287-2351 ext. 3.

The library will hold registration for “Family Time: We Are All Friends,” an event for children in preschool through grade six, beginning Feb. 6. The program will be held Feb. 11 at 7 p.m. at the North Edison Branch and Feb 22 at 10:30 a.m. at the Clara Barton Branch

Registration for “Captain Underpants Party” for children in grades K-5 will begin Feb. 11. The program will be held Feb 21 at 1:30 p.m. at the North Edison Branch and Feb. 28 at 3 p.m. at the Clara Barton Branch.
