Police, firefighters honored final wishes

On behalf of our father, John Kropewnicki, our family would like to publicly acknowledge the superb demonstration of honor and respect shown by Manville Volunteer Fire Co. No. 2 upon his death.
Our father had two last wishes before he died: he wanted to die at home, and his family fulfilled that wish; and secondly, he wanted to ride on a fire truck to his final resting-place.
Manville Fire Co. No. 2 fulfilled that wish and more.
The outpouring display of respect, honor and professionalism held us in awe.
Our family was proud of the fact that our father belonged to such a caring organization.
From providing honor guards at the funeral home to their last individual salute at the grave-site, our family could not have found more peace and comfort in knowing that Fire Co. No. 2 allowed our father to participate for the last time in an event with the men he respected and loved.
A special thanks to the Manville Police Department for their group display of respect for our father.
Throughout the years, the Police Department showed him respect and caring in inviting him to many of their activities.
Our family will be forever grateful to the Police Department for providing an escort along the funeral route.
It was also very touching to see some police officers along the route snap to attention as the fire truck carrying our father passed.
Thank you and God bless all of you.
