Papawick family collecting memories

Patricia (Papawick) Beronio, Martinsville
My parents, George and Margaret (Jurick) Papawick, sister Marjorie Evans, and I were active members of the St. Mary’s Byzantine Catholic Church in Manville (now Hillsborough) in various societies since the 1930s.
We were also active in all sorts of community affairs, including PTA, Red Cross, Disaster Relief, Visiting Nurses, other volunteer organizations, Daniel’s Dress Shop, the Board of Education, the Election Board, Republican Club. My father was a councilman, police commissioner and mayor in the ‘50s and ‘60s, ran for freeholder.
He worked at Johns-Manville Corp. and had his hand in most things that went on in Manville at that time.
I am collecting information, stories, anecdotes, photos and memorabilia that I would like to include in a book that I am preparing for my family and the community. It will include a genealogical study of our family, both here and in eastern Slovakia, from where our grandparents came.
If you have any memories of George and Margaret (Jurick) Papawick that you could share, no matter how small; or memorabilia which could be copied or photographed and returned to you, I would really appreciate hearing from you.
It is important to capture this information before all those who knew of them have left us. These memories could be put on a tape recorder, hand-written, typed or e-mailed.
Since my father died before my children were born, I am anxious to put into writing anything that would give them and their children, and subsequent generations, a sense of who these people were.
Perhaps a request could also be passed on to relatives or friends who are no longer living in this area.
Thank you very much and may God bless you for taking just a bit of time to make this dream a reality.
