BETHESDA, Md. Grazia “Grace” Fornaro, 104, died March 17 in the Rockville Nursing Home.
Born in Palo del Colle, Italy, she lived in Bethesda since 1998. She previously lived in East Windsor for 23 years. Before living in New Jersey, she lived in Astoria, N.Y., for 54 years. She emigrated from Italy to the United States in 1920.
She was a dressmaker and a member of the International Ladies Garment Workers Union for more than 50 years in New York City.
Wife of the late Vincenzo Fornaro, she is survived by son and daughter-in-law Cosmo D. andMary Jean Fornaro of Bethesda; daughter and son-in-law Dolores and James F. McLaughlin ofLecanto, Fla.; grandson Ian J. McLaughlin and his wife, Catherine, of Brooklyn, N.Y.; two granddaughters, Julie G. McLaughlin of Franklin Park, and Natalia A. Buffa and husband Paul of Mechanicsville, Va.; great-granddaughter Gracen Ona-Marie Buffa of Mechanicsville, Va.; sister Antonetta Fiorentino of Astoria, N.Y.; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 9:30 a.m. Monday at Glackin/Saul Funeral Home, 136 Morrison Ave., Hightstown. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:30 a.m. at St. Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church, 251 Franklin St., Hightstown.
Entombment will follow in Princeton Memorial Park Mausoleum, Robbinsville.
Relatives and friends may call from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday at the Glackin/Saul Funeral Home.
