Mrs. Carretta, 89, of Manalapan Township, diedApril 3, 2008, at CentraStateMedical Center in Freehold Township. She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph, in 2002; three sisters, Minnie, Jenny and Anna; and a grandson, Michael. She is survived by her son, Joseph, of Staten Island and his former wife, Robin; two daughters and sons-in-law, Joanne and Bill Shanahan of Manalapan and Janet Avella and Bill Whelton of East Windsor; and six grandchildren. Afuneral liturgy was celebrated at St. ThomasMore Church inManalapan, under the arrangement of the Freeman Funeral Home, Manalapan. Interment followed at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery in Freehold.
