VSA arts of New Jersey will offer Parent/ Child Workshops in Art for Children with Autism or Autistic Behaviors at the Gallery in the Freehold Mall. The workshops are cosponsored by the VSA arts of New Jersey and the Arc of Monmouth.
Workshops will be held on Saturdays, April 26 to June 28 from 10-10:45 a.m. and 10:45-11:30 a.m. The workshops are open to young people ages 3-17 with autism and their family members.
The 10 weekly sessions will provide experiences that serve as an introduction to the arts while developing communication, social and cognitive skills. They are designed to foster the family experience of the arts. One parent is required to attend with each child. Siblings are encouraged to participate as well.
