Fundraising dinner-dance to benefit Cooper Fund

The Chris Cooper Scholarship Fund will hold a Coop’s Jukebox Dinner and Dance, featuring music of the ’50s, ’60s and ’70s, from 7 p.m. to midnight on May 2 at Palms Plaza Caterers, Park Plaza, Route 34, Old Bridge. Highlights will include dinner, dancing, raffles and a scavenger hunt. There will be an open bar. The event will raise money for the scholarship fund, named in honor of Cooper, a 1999 Old Bridge High School (OBHS) graduate who pitched for the high school baseball team and died as the result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., in 2003. Proceeds will help an eligible OBHS boys baseball player and an OBHS girls softball player attend college. Recipients are selected based on leadership, good sportsmanship, playing ability and a love of the game.

Tickets cost $75 per person. Guests may attend in black tie or dress in the style of the ’50s, ’60s or ’70s. For more information and to reserve, call (732) 721-9045 or log on to www.coopsta.com.
