Demand Congress act for lower oil prices

Rudolph J. Girandola of Upper Freehold
We have three senators running for the highest office in the land. Each of them has power within their own position as senators in the Congress. All three of them say they are going to make it better for us and bring about “change”. Well, how about doing something within the most powerful body in the United States, The United States Senate? Do something there to stop Middle East oil cartels, and Venezuela, and major oil companies gouging and earning obscene profits.
There appears to be an oil pricing plan and a deliberate cutting of production and dreaming up lame excuses for the shortage aimed at destroying the United States economy which targets the middle class earning population. These rising oil prices loom as the first domino that can cause the rest of the dominoes to fall. Here is the plan as I view it.
   1. Keep raising the price of oil.
   2. Farmers grow corn, wheat, soy to sell for alternate fuels and profits making the cost of feed to rise.
3.The price of fuel to run the cars for people going to work each day goes higher and higher.
   4. Food prices rise because farmer’s costs to grow food also rise.
5.The economy begins to slowdown because people are using money to buy fuel and food rather than products.
   6. The United States and its people get lost in a maze of spiraling high prices. As a result, Joe Worker finds he gets laid off because profits are falling and production is down.
Do you see this picture? I am no Greenspan or Bernake, but the culprit is as plain as the nose on your face. It’s the rising price of oil and the cost of transportation.
Every day during this campaign I hear our candidate senators promising change and a better life for all. Go change and stop talking about change. You have that power within your own hands.
How about suggesting some laws or warnings or committees that say Midle East oil is not going to kill America by continuing to raise the price of oil and holding back on production?
Tell me, could it be because half the Congress owns oil stocks? Are you making money off the backs of Joe Worker? I sincerely hope not.
During World War II we had the Office of Price Administration. Remember that? Prices could not be raised beyond a certain level and that was that. I am not in favor of a new bureaucratic organization but senators, think of something to keep the oil barons from killing us. The media is waiting and doting on your every word.
I still believe in the power of the people and the power of the Congress and president. I await your immediate action
