Mrs. Smith, 54, of the Oakhurst section of Ocean Township, died May 9, 2008, at St. BarnabasHospice and Palliative Care Center atMonmouth Medical Center, Long Branch. She was employed at Provident Bank, Ocean Grove, for seven years. Mrs. Smith was predeceased by her mother, Barbara Lopus Vermilyea. She is survived by her husband of 32 years, George P. Smith; two sons, David Smith of Plainsboro and Daniel Smith of Oakhurst; a daughter, Marisa Smith of Oakhurst; her father, Henry Vermilyea of Shrewsbury; two brothers, Greg Vermilyea of Shrewsbury and Joseph Vermilyea of Pennsylvania; five sisters, Patricia Jobes ofNorth Carolina, Lynn Caltagirone of Virginia, Valerie Bollettieri of Bogota, Christine Lawrence of Belmar, and Marie Vermilyea of California; and several nieces and nephews.AMass of Christian Burialwas celebrated at St.Michael’s Roman Catholic Church, West End section of Long Branch.Arrangements were by Damiano Funeral Home, Long Branch.
