Local artist’s artwork on exhibit at Rutgers

Metuchen’s Joan Arbeiter is displaying her “Lives and Works: Talks With Women Artists” portrait series at theRutgersArt Library, Voorhees Hall, 71 Hamilton St., New Brunswick, through June 13.

The portrait series is a companion project to the book “Lives and Works: Talks with Women Artists, Volume 2,” co-authored by Beryl Smith, Sally Swenson and Joan Arbeiter, and published by Scarecrow Press in 1996. Included both in the book and the portrait series are the artistsDottyAttie,Nancy Azara, Cathey Billian, Agnes Denes, Patricia Lay, Charlotte Robinson, Ce Roser, MiriamSchapiro,Mimi Smith, Joan Snyder, KayWalkingStick and JackieWinsor.
