Daniel O’Connor, Pennington Borough’s new school board member, will meet with residents at an informal reception at Toll Gate Grammar School on June 11 from 7-8:30 p.m. in the school cafeteria.
Toll Gate is on South Main Street at East Curlis Avenue in Pennington.
Mr. O’Connor recently was appointed to Pennington’s one seat on the nine-member Hopewell Valley Regional Board of Education. Hopewell Borough also has one seat. Hopewell Township has seven seats.
Mr. O’Connor is completing the unexpired term of Kevin Doran, who resigned from the board in April due to increased professional obligations. This term ends with the school election next April.
Mr. O’Connor lives on East Welling Avenue with his wife, Kathleen, and their three children, two of whom are Toll Gate students. He works as an attorney for a pharmaceutical firm, is a U.S. Marine Corps veteran, who served in the Persian Gulf, and has been a Sunday school teacher at St. James Roman Catholic Church for a number of years.
The reception for Mr. O’Connor is co-sponsored by the Toll Gate Grammar School PTO and Pennington Borough Council. Light refreshments will be served.
Toll Gate is one of the four elementary schools in the Hopewell Valley district, which also has a middle school and high school.
