RFH film club presents annual film festival

The Rumson-Fair Haven Regional High School Film Club will host its second annual Film Festival June 5, an event designed to educate attendees on various aspects of the film industry and to showcase films created by students and faculty members.

Lectures and workshops will go on all during the day, culminating in the screening of films, which will be reviewed by a panel of judges. Speakers and presenters include screenwriters, documentary filmmakers, producers and a film schoolteacher.

The film festival screenings will begin in the RFH auditorium after the school day ends at approximately 3 p.m. Judges from the school will choose winners in a variety of categories and a panel from the Emerging Filmmakers Series of the Red Bank International Film Festival will choose one film to advance to their festival in the fall. At that event, the student film will be in competition for scholarships and prizes, not to mention the chance to "be discovered."

Movie style concessions will be offered, and there may be some surprise door prizes. Admission is $3.
