Area salon continues its commitment to Locks of Love

On Groundhog Day in 1999, Salon Cémone had its first “Hair- Raiser” for Locks of Love. Locks of Love is a nonprofit organization that collects human hair pony tails and makes them into wigs for children who suffer from long-term medical hair loss.

Salon Cémone is pleased to announce that we have donated over a quarter-mile of pony tails to Locks of Love, and counting. Most recently a box containing 328 pony tails, totaling 303 feet of hair, was delivered to Locks of Love.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone, especially the children who have generously donated their hair, over the last nine years to this wonderful cause.

On May 19, the students, staff and parents from Ethel McKnight School in Twin Rivers, East Windsor, donated pony tails totaling 91/2 feet. Another “Hair- Raiser” event on May 22 collected 26 feet of hair from the Lloyd Road School students and staff in Aberdeen.

Anyone wishing to donate a 10-inch or longer pony tail will receive a free haircut and styling at Salon Cémone. For additional information contact Salon Cémone at 732-536-0009.
