HIGHTSTOWN Estelle BaronWarshany, 88, died June 19 at home.
Born in Bayonne, she grew up in Helmetta and lived in Hightstown for 58 years.
During World War II, she sewed parachutes for the Hightstown parachute company, and for 17 years held a partnership in the Hights Farm Equipment business. She owned the Union Valley Seafood and Steak House for 10 years, and later had worked as a caregiver in Monroe Village for 10 years.
Predeceased by son George A. Warshany Jr., brother John Baron and sisters Sophie Bomba, Victoria Mennuti, Julia Skok and Helen Sarna, she is survived by her daughters, Elaine Kozinsky and husband Nick of Jamesburg and Diane Hancharik of St. Augustine, Fla.; brother Carl Baron of South River; grandsons George A. Warshany III of Winter Springs, Fla., Richard A. Warshany of Hightstown and Steven A. Warshany of Attleboro, Mass.; granddaughter Cathy DiProfio of Clark; ten great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews; and many friends including Barbara Scarpetti.
Services were held at the Lester Memorial Home, 16 W. Church St., Jamesburg, followed by a 9 a.m. funeral liturgy at Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church, Helmetta. Burial was in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hightstown.
