Police blotter

   Lorraine Martine, 46, no address given, was charged with defiant trespassing at 12:57 p.m. June 16, behind Riccadonna’s Home Improvements on South Main Street.
   Ms. Martine was lodged in Somerset County jail in default of $2,000 bail.
A Lincoln Avenue resident reported his son’s portable basketball hoop as stolen at 7:31 p.m. June 17.
   The hoop, which the resident described as having a white backboard, a metal net and a gray base, was believed to have been taken between 9 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. that day.
Christopher Fitzgerald, 33, of Middlesex, was charged with driving while intoxicated at 1:33 a.m. June 18, after he was stopped on the Van Veghten Bridge.
   Mr. Fitzgerald was released to a family member after processing.
At 8:57 a.m. June 18, a Gladys Avenue resident reported that his son’s bike had been taken from outside the Wal-Mart on North Main Street on June 17.
   The brown 16-inch Mongoose bike is valued at $100.
Patrols reported finding a black 16-inch boy’s Huffy-brand bike on North Sixth Avenue at 9:43 a.m. June 18.
   The bike was stored at police headquarters.
At 10:10 a.m. June 18, a Manville High School official reported a possible break-in to the high school’s freezer.
   Police determined that at approximately 12:40 p.m. June 17, someone broke into the outdoor freezer at the school, and stole $200 worth of frozen meat.
A caller reported seeing several individuals breaking glass bottles on the Weston School basketball courts at 5:39 p.m. June 18.
   Police located the individuals on South Street, and they agreed to clean up the glass.
A Boonton resident reported the theft of an envelope containing $7,500 at 12:56 p.m. June 19 while at the Adesa Auto Auctions on North Main Street.
   An investigation into the theft is ongoing.
A 17-year-old girl was charged with possession of less than 50 grams of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia at 12:26 a.m. Saturday.
   Police reported responding to a noise complaint in the Huff Avenue area, and discovered the girl during the investigation.
   She was released to a family member after processing.
Steven S. Andaloro, 46, of South Third Avenue, was charged with shoplifting at 2:36 p.m. Saturday, after Wal-Mart store security detained him at the North Main Street business, police said.
   Details on the items Mr. Andaloro was alleged to have taken were not available.
   He was transported to Somerset County Jail in default of $500 bail.
A North 10th Avenue caller reported at 6:33 p.m. Saturday that his car window had been smashed while the car was parked on the street.
   The damage was estimated at $200.
A Kennedy Boulevard caller reported that her car was scratched at about 3:15 a.m. Monday.
   Police confirmed the driver’s-side door was damaged and a side taillight on the vehicle was broken, causing an estimated $400 in damage.
