Bug contest, film fest, family time slated at library

The Edison Public Library will present Books ‘n’ Bugs, a contest open to children in preschool through grade six, July 7-Aug. 29. Each week a different bug clue will be given. Children who identify the bug, bug character or book title correctly will be eligible to win a prize. This contest will run in all branches.

Registration will be held in person or by phone beginning July 7 for Family Time: Buggy for Books story time, open to children ages 2-11 with family. Programs are as follows:

• Tuesdays, July 15-Aug. 5, 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. at the Edison Main Library

• Tuesdays, July 15-Aug. 5, 12:30 p.m. at the North Edison Branch

• Thursdays, July 17-Aug 7, 10:30 a.m. at the North Edison Branch

• Wednesdays, July 16-Aug. 6, 10:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. at the Clara Barton Branch.

The library also will present Family Time: Children’s Bug Film Festival at 10 a.m. July 12 at the North Edison Branch.

The annual summer reading club for children preschool age through 11 years old will run through Aug. 22. This year’s program, “Catch the Reading Bug,” is sponsored by Staples and the Friends of the Edison Public Library.
