Annual Jersey Shore Film Festival now under way

The third annual Jersey Shore Film Festival is under way and ends Aug. 2 at the Jewish Community Center, Deal.

It focuses on themes of friendship and family, and a key theme is education. A benefit for Imagine Academy, a school for children with autism spectrum disorder will be 8:30 p.m. July 27, and feature the comedy Open School Night, Jackie Mason: The Ultimate Jew, and other films. Films for the festival are chosen from submissions by filmmakers worldwide. To honor Israel’s 60th anniversary, the festival will screen films such as The Champagne Spy, Souvenirs and Divergence, The Jews of Lebanon.
