Museum trip, summer concerts in August

The Metuchen Recreation and CulturalArts Commission will host a bus trip to the Brooklyn Art Museum Aug. 13. The cost is $23 for senior citizens/students, $25 for adults and includes a guided tour of the latest exhibit, American Identities. The bus will depart from the Metuchen Borough Hall at 9:30 a.m. and will return at approximately 3 p.m. Lunch can be purchased inside the museum.

Following summer concerts will be offered for the 2008 season:

• Aug. 7 — Christopher Dean (jazz and blues)

• Aug 14 — Night Train (New Orleansstyle blues)

• Aug. 21 — Anderson Council (rock ‘n’ roll)

• Aug. 28 — Roadside Graves with hometown boys John Gleason and Jeremy Benson

• Aug 31 — grand finale featuring children’s entertainer mr. RAY followed by 3 Sides Now. Rain date is Sept. 1 (Labor Day)

All concerts will be held in the Metuchen Senior Citizen Center Parking Lot, 12 Center St., at 8 p.m. In the event of inclement weather, the concerts will be held in the senior center, with the exception of the Aug. 31 mr. RAY concert.
